FERRY POINT, THE BRONX: The Ferry Point golf course, once under the management of the Trump Organization and known for its large 'TRUMP LINKS' logo, entered a new era on Thursday, January 11.

The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, revealed the new 'BALLY LINKS' sign, marking a significant change in operators and a new beginning for the Bronx.

This event, which was visible from the Whitestone Bridge, took place around 11 am and interestingly coincided with the end of the former president's fraud trial.

Trump golf club is renamed 'Bally’s Links'

The Ferry Point site, now known as Bally's Golf Links, reportedly boasts an expansive 180-acre golf course with 18 holes and a clubhouse spanning 20,000 square feet.

The city-owned site will be operated by Bally's Corporation, a casino company, which is hopeful of securing one of the three casino licenses pending for downstate.

Despite these plans, opposition is already brewing within the community. Kristy Marmorato, the first Republican from the Bronx to be elected to the city council in half a century, has voiced her objection to Bally's casino chain's proposal to establish a casino in her district.

In the previous year, Bally's had collaborated with the Throgg's Neck community to launch a complimentary shuttle service for residents, offering connections to the Throgg's Neck Ferry Landing and other public transportation options, per ABC 7.

What did Mayor Eric Adams say?

Mayor Adams, who was present at the ceremony, expressed that the renaming symbolizes "a turning of a corner," per Daily News.

"How many times have we crossed this bridge and looked down and saw the greatness of what this golf course could be if someone just had the eyes and the vision to do so," Adams stated.

"You're going to see something great that comes out of this golf course," he added.

Among the other elected officials who attended the event was Kristy Marmorato, a recently elected Republican councilwoman from the Bronx, known for her connections with several notable Trump supporters.

As local dignitaries were marking a new beginning in the Bronx, the former president found himself in the Manhattan Supreme Court, facing the concluding day of his civil fraud trial.

The charges against him allege that he and his company were involved in a prolonged fraudulent scheme concerning real estate dealings in the city.

Despite these accusations, Trump has consistently asserted his innocence.

The case, initiated by State Attorney General Letitia James, reportedly seeks damages amounting to $370 million and requests the court to prohibit the ex-president from conducting business in New York.

Internet reacts to Bally’s Links

"More winning" is the phrase echoing across the internet as the Trump golf club gets a new identity, a change that coincidentally occurred on the same day as the conclusion of the former president's fraud trial.

"Oh look more winning! #TrumpFraud," said a user on X.

Another user shared a gif of a victory sign.

There are mixed reactions as well. A user tweeted, "Someone obviously thinks the name Trump Links stinks."

Another added, "Soon it will be called Illegal’s Island."

But one person expressed, "It will ALWAYS be Trump Links."
