NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: NYC Mayor Eric Adams recently expressed confidence that pro-Palestinian protesters would attempt to disrupt the New Year's Eve ball drop in Times Square, following their previous disruptions at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In response to this development, Fox News host Sean Hannity utilized X (formerly Twitter) to convey the information to his 6.4 million followers.

However, the internet did not respond well to Adams’ planning as several X users took a brutal jab at the mayor.

Sean Hannity reports on Eric Adams ‘protest prep’

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “PROTEST PREP: NYPD Getting Ready for Pro-Palestinian Protest at New Year's Eve Ball Drop.”

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website that revealed that Mayor Eric Adams is “sure” that pro-Palestinian protestors will try to derail the event.

As per The New York Post, Adams and NYPD are getting ready for pro-Palestinian protestors to interrupt the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square.

Regarding this matter, Adams stated during a news conference on Tuesday, "We’re sure there’s gonna be some type of attempt this year. Everyone looks for events like this if they want to do bad things, and the police department is on top of it."

To proactively address potential disruptions, the NYPD is deploying a significant number of officers to the area for New Year's Eve.

This deployment comprises a combination of uniformed and plainclothes personnel. Furthermore, law enforcement will leverage a range of technologies and strategic approaches to monitor and effectively address potential threats.

Former Deputy Commissioner Richard Esposito informed CBS New York, stating, "The variety of tools, whether robots, drones, bomb-sniffing dogs — all of those things are in play."

He further added, “They’re going to be on alert for something different than what we’ve had in the past, but they are mostly concerned [about] the people who go out [to] enjoy their night, and they want to keep the protests and the freedom of speech from interfering with other people’s freedom and enjoying themselves.”

Furthermore, the Times Square Alliance is collaborating closely with the NYPD, private security firms, and federal authorities to ensure the security of the site during the New Year's Eve festivities.

Times Square Alliance president Tom Harris said, “If you’re going to come and try to disrupt the event, you’re probably not gonna be successful, and if you are, you’re going to be arrested, so stay home and protest someplace else.”

Additionally, private security firms and federal authorities will also be deployed to keep the site secure.

Internet calls Eric Adams 'incompetent politician'

After Sean Hannity reported on Eric Adams' pro-Palestinian protest prep, many people on the internet took a brutal jab at the mayor.

One person wrote, “The worst city, the worst mayor,” and another mocked Adams, “Luv hearing sanctuary city Eric beg joe.”

An X user simply said, “The NY Mickey Mouse 🐭 Law Enforcement Boss doesn't have a plan,” and another took a jab at Adams, saying, “This slob wasn`t ready for this position and never will be.”

Another slammed Adams saying, “Completely incompetent politician running and ruining the most important city in America. DEI and rigged elections have dangerous consequences. It’s not 'time' for specific people to be in office. The only prerequisite should be common sense & integrity.”
