WASHINGTON, DC: In a newly released set of messages from the House Ways and Means Committee, evidence has surfaced that Hunter Biden suggested a meeting in New York City involving his father, then-former Vice President Joe Biden, and Yadong Liu, CEO of CEFC Global Strategic Holdings.

The revelation has reignited discussions and controversy over the Biden family's business dealings and their potential implications.

Hunter Biden’s exchange with Yadong Liu

The messages, dated December 12, 2017, feature Hunter Biden coordinating a potential meeting between Joe Biden, his brother Jim Biden, and Liu. In a hurriedly typed text message, Hunter wrote, "Can you meet this evening early," directing the message to Liu.

He explained further, "My father will also be in New York and he wants me to attend the Sandy Hook memorial service with him. I would like him to meet you, along with my uncle, and then you and I can talk. Let me know if that works."

"I'm sorry for the late notice I got off the red eye in Baltimore from LA and took a little nap before I got his message," Hunter added.

Liu responded positively, expressing flexibility and a willingness to arrange the meeting, saying, "No problem" and asking Hunter to specify the meeting time and place.

Follow-up messages reveal continued communication between Hunter and Liu, highlighting Hunter’s anticipation of Liu’s report from a meeting in China.

On December 24, 2017, Hunter urged Liu to call him, stating he was "anxiously waiting" for the report. Liu, still in China, responded apologetically, mentioning legal challenges that were hindering their projects.

"I am still in China. Apologies for not getting back to you sooner but I knew [sic] you have been talking to Kevin...," Yadong stated, purportedly referring to a CEFC China Energy executive named Gongwen Dong.

"I didn’t get to see the chairman on this trip but president chen [sic] asked me to convey to you that while we attach great importance to working with you, under the current circumstances it is almost impossible to move forward on any of the projects with you. There are a few key dates in the next weeks and we are focused on those legal challenges and cannot afford to do anything that has any potential of being misunderstood or misconstrued."

"He sincerely hopes that you can understand our situation and looks forward to removing those legal uncertainties and working with you again," Yadong continued. "I am coming back next week and can meet to explain face to face if necessary. Thank you."

Criticism from Hunter Biden's former business associate

A former business associate of Hunter Biden criticized the exchanges, labeling them as further evidence of the Biden family's alleged dishonesty. "This is a great exhibit of their nonsense and lies," the former associate told Fox News. "Yet another example of them just blatantly lying to the American public."

The context and implications of these messages remain a subject of intense scrutiny. The day after the proposed meeting, Jim Biden, Joe Biden's brother, emailed Hunter with "Yadong" in the subject line, though the contents of the email remain unclear.

A Town & Country Magazine profile and photographs from a gala coincide with Joe Biden's presence in New York City on the evening of December 12, 2017, suggesting the potential meeting was plausible.

Furthermore, the House Ways and Means Committee released a photograph of Liu’s business card along with the messages. Liu, who assumed the role of CEO of CEFC in March 2014, boasts an impressive background.

"Mr. Liu started his career in the Chinese Foreign Ministry, where he was a diplomat and a top interpreter for Chinese leaders," a 2016 Securities and Exchange Commission filing stated. "Mr. Liu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University, a Bachelor of Laws degree from Beijing Foreign Affairs College, and a Ph.D. in Political Science with a concentration in International Political Economy from Columbia University."

Hunter Biden's business partnerships and President Biden's involvement

This isn’t the first instance linking Joe Biden to CEFC executives. Earlier this year, Hunter Biden's former business partner, Rob Walker, disclosed in a transcribed interview that Joe Biden had attended a meeting with CEFC-linked executives at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC.

Walker described Joe Biden's brief appearance at the meeting, which included pleasantries and general conversation, before the elder Biden departed.

"I don’t think we had structured a deal on how to work together at this point," Walker said, noting the meeting lasted "probably an hour and a half."

According to Walker, Biden wasn't present for the entire meeting. "The former vice president was not there the entire time. He was there maybe 10 minutes," Walker said. "He spoke nicely, you know, normal pleasantries. I think he probably did most of the talking and then left."

President Biden has consistently denied any knowledge of his son’s business dealings, a stance he reiterated forcefully during his 2019 campaign. Despite these denials, records indicate that Joe Biden met with numerous foreign business associates of Hunter Biden.

The House Oversight Committee stated in a press release that President Biden interacted with nearly every foreign business associate linked to Hunter Biden.

"Joe Biden interacted with nearly all of his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates. President Biden spoke by phone, attended dinners and meetings, and had coffee with his son’s foreign business associates," the release said. "These individuals include Russian and Kazakhstani oligarchs, a Burisma executive, and Chinese nationals who collectively funneled millions to his son."

Biden family slammed on social media

The release of these messages has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many criticizing the Biden family.

"The Biden Crime Family is real," one posted on X.

"The Biden family is the most corrupt family in America," another alleged.

"What a bunch of lousy crooks the Bidens are," someone else fumed.

"They are all guilty," a comment read.

"We all knew it but now the Democrats will have to accept it. Crooked Joe Biden," another chimed in.
