NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Wednesday, December 20, one of the things discussed on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ panel was Donald Trump’s disqualification from the Colorado ballot. This discussion prompted a brief monologue from Joe Scarborough.

Scarborough started off by taking a brutal dig at the former President as he explained how Trump “thrives.” After this, the ‘Morning Joe’ host spoke in detail about democracy, and more importantly the survival of it, but the internet was far from impressed.

Joe Scarborough shares his views on American democracy

Joe Scarborough remarked on Donald Trump as he said, “The way Trump thrives, and I know we all know this, is by him saying outrageous things and people pulling their hair out and being shocked, and stunned and deeply saddened.”

He further pointed out, “The proper response is hearing it and saying ‘How do we stop that? How do we defeat that? How do we shove the words of Hitler back into his throat? Shove it down his throat and make him pay politically for this every day for the rest of his life.”

He continued, “How do we take the fact that he brags about terminating Roe v Wade, and then tries to go back on that? That’s just not fair.”

As the segment continued, Scarborough shared his thoughts on Democracy and its survival as the Presidential election edges closer.

The MSNBC host said, “This is not about Republican versus Democrat. This is not about liberal versus conservative. This is about people who love democracy versus people who…I guess just don’t give a damn about American democracy.”

“This is a fight in the next 11 months, regardless of your views on certain issues or your political stance on certain issues, this is the fight for the heart and soul of American democracy, and not where American democracy goes for the next four years, but whether American democracy survives,” said Scarborough.

Lastly, Scarborough also said, “I do wonder if everybody in the Biden White House and every Democrat on Capitol Hill understands this. This is about the very survival of American democracy.”

Joe Scarborough faces backlash on social media

After the clip of Joe Scarborough talking about American democracy made its way to social media, people were quick to chime in.

One user wrote, “What a bunch of drama queens,” and another wrote, “You are a pompous a**. Biden is the most corrupt politician in history.”

“You people are disgusting. Pathological liars,” wrote a person, and a fourth added, “Democrats are afraid of democracy or they would not be attempting to take Trump off ballots. Joe, stop the BS!”

People continued to weigh in on the matter as one user said, “Morning Joe is the worst!” and another wrote, “Naw. It's a fight to see if Trump can bring your ratings up to a sustaining level.”
