Nancy Guthrie mystery deepens as questions swirl over Annie Guthrie, Tommaso Cioni home survey
CATALINA FOOTHILLS, ARIZONA: The disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues to raise new questions months after she was last seen, with fresh claims now putting the spotlight back on her immediate family.
While authorities have not named any suspects, online speculation has picked up again following allegations about a home survey involving her daughter Annie Guthrie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni.
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, 2026, with investigators believing she may have been taken from her home the night before.

Questions raised over alleged survey at Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni’s home
The latest development comes from Jonathan Lee Riches, a self-styled investigator who has been closely following the case. He recently claimed that a survey was conducted at Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni’s home just one day before Nancy disappeared.
Sharing what he described as documents on social media, he wrote, “Here is something interesting. A survey was done at Annie & Tommaso's home the day before Nancy Guthrie was last seen. Jan 30, 2026.”
He went on to question the timing of the alleged survey, asking, “How much does it cost to get a survey done on someone's home? Why did Annie & Tommaso get a survey? Nancy Guthrie vanishes a day after the survey was done.”
However, these claims remain unverified. There has been no official confirmation that such a survey took place, and no direct link has been established between the alleged activity and Guthrie’s disappearance.
Authorities maintain no suspicion toward family members
Despite the renewed attention on Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni, law enforcement has been clear about their stance. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has already stated that all family members have been cleared of suspicion in the case.
Still, interest in the couple has persisted. Much of that attention stems from earlier reports and the fact that they were among the last people to see Nancy Guthrie before she went missing.
According to available details, she had dinner with Annie the night before her disappearance, and Tommaso later dropped her back home.
Adding to the speculation, Riches had previously claimed that Annie had asked her mother for a loan shortly before she vanished. He said the information came from someone “close to the family,” though he did not provide evidence to support that claim either.
New evidence emerges as search for Nancy Guthrie continues
While online theories continue to circulate, investigators are focusing on physical evidence.
Recent reports suggest that Nancy Guthrie’s fitness tracker was found in Longmont, Arizona, offering a potential new lead in the case.
Authorities also located a vehicle nearby, from which they recovered forensic evidence linked to a person of interest who had already been interviewed.
Details about this individual have not been made public, and officials have not confirmed whether this development brings them closer to solving the case.
The discovery has, however, renewed attention on the investigation, giving hope that there may be movement after weeks of uncertainty.
