NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently commented on President Donald Trump’s national address while speaking to ABC News' Jonathan Karl on Sunday, December 21.
Pelosi called Trump’s speech ridiculous, adding that it was proof of his “mental incapacity” and further criticized his comments about the late Hollywood director Rob Reiner, who died along with his wife, Michele.
Nancy Pelosi says she did not watch Trump’s year-end speech
While speaking to Jonathan Karl, the former House speaker commented on the president's recent address to the nation.
The correspondent briefed Pelosi about the speech, stating that Donald Trump blamed everything on the former president, Joe Biden. When asked if she had watched the address, Pelosi said, “No,” adding that she has had “enough of him.”
However, she added that she saw clips of it and called the speech “ridiculous.” When asked to explain further, Nancy Pelosi recalled Donald Trump’s comments about Rob Reiner and said, “We were all offended.”
“Something’s wrong there,” she added.
Pelosi also claimed that something was wrong with the people around him because they didn’t “stop him from his ridiculousness.” Karl said that he knew Pelosi and Rob Reiner were close and asked her about her reaction to Donald Trump’s comments about her late friend.
Nancy Pelosi said that she had an “emotional reaction” as she recalled finding out about the Reiners’ passing.
She said that they were all “devastated” because they loved both Rob and Michele. Pelosi again added that Donald Trump’s statement was not “sane” and was below the level of humanity.
Trump doubles down on critique of Rob Reiner
Not too long before his end-of-the-year address, Donald Trump had taken to Truth Social to address the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner.
At the time, he had said that Rob Reiner died due to "Trump Derangement Syndrome," noting that he was “tortured and struggling.”
He added that the couple were killed due to the “anger” Rob Reiner caused people. The president also claimed that the late director had a “raging obsession” with him.
Trump clarifies his comment on Rob Reiner, regardless of backlash.

He added that he was “not a fan of Rob Reiner” and noted that he was “very bad” for America.
