Rob Reiner’s daughter Romy 'lived in fear' of Nick, relying on Jake after parents’ murders: Report
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Romy Reiner, the daughter of Rob Reiner, reportedly spent much of her childhood feeling scared of her older brother, Nick Reiner. She often called him her 'best friend' and tried to support him despite her fear.
According to Sources, Romy continued to stand by Nick while growing up, even when she felt uneasy around him. Their brother, Jake Reiner, is said to have felt the same way. “She didn’t even like the idea of him living across the street from her,” the insider said.
Nick is now in police custody. He has been accused of killing his parents, Rob and Michele Singer Reiner.
Romy Reiner 'lived in fear' of brother Nick Reiner
An insider informed Daily Mail that Romy's fear shaped much of her childhood. “It feels like Romy has been scared of Nick since she was a child." Even with those concerns, Romy reportedly made efforts to support her brother. The insider said she continued to stand by him and often described him as her “best friend.”
The source also described Nick’s behavior as unpredictable, even before he struggled with substance use. “Even before his dr*g addiction, his outbursts were frightening because they seemed to come out of nowhere. She tried to stay out of his way as much as she could, but it wasn’t easy.”
The insider further alleged that Romy was uneasy about Nick staying in the guesthouse at their parents’ home. The source claimed she believed the arrangement was 'not a great idea.'
Nick was reportedly living close to his parents, Rob and Michele Singer, at the time, and this made Romy a bit uncomfortable. Despite her discomfort, the source explained that Romy understood why the decision was made. “But she knew they moved him in so they could keep a close eye on him and give him a roof over his head,” the insider added.
The source noted that ongoing issues with Nick often strengthened Romy’s bond with her brother Jake. According to the insider, Jake, 34, shared similar concerns about his brother, Nick. The source also said Romy felt more comfortable confiding in Jake rather than placing additional stress on their parents.
The insider also commented on how the siblings are coping now. “She and Jake are numb right now,” the source claimed.
Despite everything, the source said Romy never cut ties with her brother. “Anytime that her parents looked overwhelmed or asked for help, Romy and Jake were there for Nick. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but she never disowned Nick,” the insider said.
