New York school resource officer removed over 'unacceptable' posts mocking Charlie Kirk’s death

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A school resource officer in suburban Westchester was removed from her post after posting shocking social media comments about Charlie Kirk’s death.

SRO Tanisha Blanche, who was with the Westchester County Police Department and stationed at Somers Intermediate School, faced immediate backlash when screenshots of her alleged posts circulated online.

Blanche appeared to mock the murder of the Turning Point USA founder, who was fatally shot on Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University.

One alleged comment on a video of Kirk read, “Well, that white sniper was overqualified when he put that hole in your neck hunni bunni.”

She dismissed the outrage in another post: “This is who y’all crying about on my feed? Get a life," Blanche wrote.

“Why yall don’t have that same energy for the school shooting that took place yesterday, but yall crying over the man that was ok with gun violence….Make it make sense,” read a third Instagram story.

Other posts reportedly referenced the race of the suspected shooter and the location of the killing.

The fallout was swift. Blanche was removed from her school duties and reassigned to administrative work while investigators review her social media activity.

Somers schools superintendent Adam Bronstein told parents the posts were “completely unacceptable” and glorified violence, according to the New York Post.

“The Westchester County Police Department has affirmed that another SRO will be assigned to our schools on Monday,” Bronstein said. “I am in touch directly with the police to ensure the safety and continuity of our SRO program going forward.”

Other officials face consequences over negative remarks on Charlie Kirk death

Blanche was not the only one facing consequences for social media remarks about Kirk’s death. Others who cheered his killing were also removed from their positions.

The Joe Burrow Foundation, set up by the Bengals QB, cut ties with a board member after his cringeworthy commentary.

“The Joe Burrow Foundation was founded on the belief that everybody has the responsibility to do good,” the charity said in a statement. “We have terminated an advisory board member that made inappropriate remarks in light of recent events and they are no longer associated with the Foundation. Their comments do not reflect our values or our mission. We are committed to accountability and respect for all.”

That unnamed member was Ohio Judge Ted Berry, according to Fox 19 in Cincinnati. Berry had reportedly posted “Rest in Hatred & Division!” under a tribute to Kirk and followed it up by saying the conservative firebrand “spewed hate & division.”

“How’s he feel about gun violence and gun control in Hell, now?” Berry allegedly wrote in another post.

But he backtracked when the Cincinnati Enquirer pressed him. “I do not condone any type of violence on any human being," Berry insisted. “I regret if I caused division,” he added. “That was not my intent. And I hope there can be peace.”

The Burrow Foundation wasn’t the only sports world entity to swing the axe.

The Carolina Panthers fired communications coordinator Charlie Rock after his Instagram commentary on the killing. Meanwhile, PHNX Sports gave the boot to Gerald Bourguet, who had been covering the Suns, over his remarks on Charlie Kirk on X.
