Charlie Kirk memorial service: Trump to attend Arizona event as TPUSA announces date and venue

GLENDALE, ARIZONA: The memorial service of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is scheduled for September 21 at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals.

President Donald Trump has confirmed he will attend the service, joining other senior officials and supporters to honor the 31-year-old political figure who was shot dead at Utah Valley University on September 10.

Turning Point USA, the organization co-founded by Kirk, invited supporters to join in “celebrating the remarkable life and enduring legacy of Charlie Kirk, an American legend,” highlighting his dedication to faith, courage, and conviction.

Funeral arrangements and expected attendees

Turning Point USA announced the funeral location and date via social media, urging supporters to participate in commemorating Kirk’s contributions.

President Trump, who paid tribute to Kirk in an emotional address Wednesday night, confirmed his attendance.

Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance traveled to Utah to escort Kirk’s casket back to Arizona. Senior administration officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, are also expected to attend the funeral service.

Erika Kirk’s emotional tribute and pledge to continue his mission

Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, shared an emotional tribute on social media and during a livestream, expressing her grief and vowing to uphold her husband’s mission.

“My husband's voice will remain,” she said, thanking first responders for their efforts. “Mr President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him too. But most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew that every day.”

Erika Kirk also affirmed that Turning Point USA’s campus tour will continue. “There will be even more tours in the years to come,” she said. “The movement is not going anywhere, and it will only grow stronger when you join it.”

Circumstances of Charlie Kirk’s death

Kirk was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University as part of his American Comeback tour. His alleged killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested after a multi-day manhunt. Robinson surrendered to police on Friday, September 12, and authorities reported the discovery of bullets with “bizarre” inscriptions linked to the weapon.

Kirk’s death sparked widespread mourning among political allies, supporters, and family members.

Erika Kirk, mother of their two young children, shared photos of herself grieving alongside her husband’s casket, writing on social media, “The sound of this widow weeping echoes throughout this world like a battle cry. I have no idea what any of this means. But baby I know you do and so does our Lord.”
