BURBANK, CALIFORNIA: Nick Jonas has revealed that he and wife Priyanka Chopra have introduced their 4-year-old daughter, Malti Marie, to the world of 'Camp Rock' by showing her the latest addition to the Disney franchise.

Jonas also reflected on his recent Broadway experience, opening up about the challenges of dealing with criticism, smaller audiences, and the pressure of allowing negative reactions to shape his perception of his performances.

Jonas revealed that he and wife Priyanka Chopra have already introduced their daughter to the 'Camp Rock' franchise.

Speaking to E! News at the Monday, August 10, premiere of 'Camp Rock 3,' he explained, “We have shown our daughter this movie, but she's not seen the first two yet, but that's the beauty of it. Working backwards.”

He added that Malti will likely watch 'Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam' next as she works through the Disney films.

He also believes many families may discover the franchise in the same way, beginning with the latest installment before returning to the original movies.

“I think a lot of families will probably start with this one and then go back and discover the original two,” he explained, adding, “But she loved it. I'm sure so many young people will all over the world.”

The Jonas Brothers' return to the franchise alongside Demi Lovato, who reprises her role as Mitchie, comes 16 years after the second film.

Jonas described stepping onto the familiar set as emotional and recalled that the original films were the brothers' first real experience acting together.

Lovato also described returning as “so nostalgic and so exciting,” adding that she has “so much love” for Mitchie and the movie. The brothers also explained to PEOPLE that becoming parents helped inspire their return.

Nick noted that they have enjoyed partnering with Disney on projects they can share with their children, while the Jonas Brothers have seen audiences who grew up with them now bringing their own children to shows.

Nick Jonas opens up about Broadway criticism

During a July 7 appearance on 'The School of Greatness' podcast, Jonas discussed learning to enjoy the moment rather than becoming consumed by criticism.

Reflecting on his 2025 Broadway run in 'The Last Five Years,' he recalled performing eight shows a week in theaters with 1,000 seats each night and noticing that some performances had smaller audiences.

He explained that critical voices sometimes became louder than the audience's reaction, causing the negative voice in his head to “become the narrative.” His focus eventually shifted toward the people in front of him and their reactions in real time rather than the empty seats.

He also acknowledged that staying motivated and creatively engaged is not always easy, adding that conversations with friends and family about the “inner sort of life stuff” he was experiencing had been fruitful.
