WASHINGTON, DC: On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the Senate voted to pass a critical defense policy bill known as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which sets the policy agenda and authorizes funding for the Department of Defense annually. The Senate passed the bill by a vote of 87 to 13, reported CNN.

Following the vote, Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to explain her vote against the NDAA that was “negotiated by Speaker Johnson” and was different from her vote under ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

As Greene explained her recent “no”, the internet supported Greene for her decision but slammed House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says she ‘loves’ the military

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “I love our military. That’s why I voted for the NDAA passed this summer under Speaker McCarthy that included a 30% pay raise for junior members of the military.”

She added, “But the NDAA negotiated by Speaker Johnson, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, and Hakeem Jeffries removed that pay raise. Not only that, it didn’t remove Ukraine funding and doubled it to $600 million, funded abortion vacations, and kept trans in our military.”

“Worst of all, they shoved the FISA spy court into our defense bill. The NDAA should NEVER reauthorize the weaponization of our justice system that Joe Biden’s DOJ and the FBI are using to spy on American citizens!” wrote the congresswoman.

She concluded her statement and wrote, “I voted NO!”

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s vote against NDAA

After Marjorie Taylor Greene explained her vote following the defense policy bill being passed by the Senate, the internet backed Greene's decision on the social media platform.

One user wrote, “Thank you for not bending over like the rest of establishment RINO’s in Congress They must all be voted out,” while another said, “Thank you for persevering and enduring for our rights."

Several people expressed their disappointment toward Speaker Mike Johnson after Greene’s post as one user wrote, “@SpeakerJohnson and the RINOs are traitors to their voters and the American people.”

Another wrote, “@SpeakerJohnson has to go!!  He's no better than McCarthy, and not what we thought we were getting.  We've been duped again!!”

“VACATE SPEAKER JOHNSON” expressed one user, while another wrote, “Speaker Johnson needs to be McCarthy’d. He is a traitor and a disgrace.”
