WASHINGTON, DC: Barack Obama's estranged half-brother, Malik Obama, isn’t holding back when it comes to his views on the former president’s influence in today’s political landscape.

In a bold claim, the Kenyan-American alleged the first Black president is “still running the country” and believes he’ll have “a big role to play” in shaping Vice President Kamala Harris’ bid for the 2024 presidency.

Malik, who has endorsed Donald Trump since 2016, also suspected that Barack orchestrated a behind-the-scenes political shift, swapping President Joe Biden in July for Harris as the Democratic nominee without a single primary vote cast.

“Definitely he had something to do with it. … He’s still running the Democratic Party, and he’s still running the country behind closed doors,” he remarked.

Malik suggested his brother is likely in constant communication with Democratic presidential nominee Harris, adding, “I’m sure that they are talking almost every day,” per New York Post

“He’s going to be extremely influential in whatever goes on should they win," said Malik.

Malik Obama explains his ‘light bulb’ moment shift on Democratic values

As a vocal critic of 44th president Barack Obama and the Democratic Party’s leftward shift, Malik Obama cited his deep disappointment with Barack Obama's tenure in the White House.

He explained his switch to the Republican Party, claiming his "light bulb" moment came when he realized that Democrats were straying far from his values.

Malik’s religious beliefs, including his devout Muslim stance, have also fueled his criticism, particularly regarding the Democratic Party’s positions on issues like abortion and LGBTQ rights.

“I had a lot of expectations that he didn’t live up to,” Malik stated about his half-brother.

He took particular aim at Harris' campaign promises around “freedom” and codifying federal abortion rights, expressing concerns that such policies clash with his beliefs.

“What if you’re in a marriage? I mean, are you telling me that the woman can do whatever she likes because it’s her body, and you have no say, and you are her husband?” Malik questioned.

“I am a Muslim, and I believe that God created men for women and women for men.”

Malik Obama cities Barack Obama's wealth and charity scandal as turning points

Malik Obama, once the best man at his brother Barack Obama's wedding, alleged the growing wealth of the Obamas post-presidency has also raised his ire.

With a net worth reportedly nearing $135 million, the former accountant in Washington feels his Barack has lost touch with the people, claiming, “He’s just becoming rich, that’s all. … He’s fake as a snake.”

Their relationship soured further after Malik’s Virginia-based charity, Barack H Obama Foundation was exposed for legal violations about being a tax-exempt organization, something he suggests his brother never properly addressed.

“Now, his foundations are supposed to be mentoring all these young people, and its headquarters is in Chicago, and Chicago has, I don’t know, the worst crime rates,” Malik highlighted.

“So what’s he mentoring?” “It dawned on me that the Democrats were just a lot of hypocrites — they don’t live up to their promises.”

Malik Obama weighs in on border enforcement

As the 2024 election approaches, Malik Obama remains outspoken, particularly on the topic of immigration. Having gone through the legal process himself, he expressed frustration with the lack of enforcement at the southern border and questioned why illegal immigrants are afforded benefits.

The Republican supporter, who plans to vote for Donald Trump for the third time on November 5, did not completely support the 45th president's comments about Haitian migrants consuming animals in Springfield, Ohio.

However, Malik defended the broader idea, pointing out that cultural practices are often hard to leave behind.

“He’s voicing concerns of those who are there in Springfield, Ohio,” Malik said.

“You know, some people even eat other people. … They’re cannibals. They eat other people. Others eat cats, others eats dogs, others eat monkeys, others eat steaks. So all those people coming in, are you telling me that? Let’s say for the Chinese, they eat all kinds of things over there, and when they come to America, they’re going to stop doing that? Probably not!”
