LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Oprah Winfrey is pushing back at online critics who mocked her walk during a high-profile appearance at Paris Fashion Week with longtime friend Gayle King. The 72-year-old media mogul, who has been showing off her dramatic weight loss while attending runway shows across the French capital, sparked online chatter when she arrived at the Chloe show at the Tennis Club de Paris on March 4.

Oprah Winfrey claps back at trolls who mocked her walk

Winfrey said people on the internet had mocked her and King, joking that they were “walking like they were 90 years old.” The comment made the audience laugh as she told the story.

She explained that the moment happened right as they arrived at the Chloe fashion show. Her assistant had handed her a pair of Chloe sunglasses just before she got out of the car.

Winfrey said, "And so there was a moment where we're walking into the Chloe fashion show and my [assistant] had just handed me the Chloe sunglasses before I got out of the car," according to the video shared by an Instagram user jznotthatjayz.

Winfrey said she usually wears prescription glasses or contact lenses, but the sunglasses were not prescription. Because of that, she could barely see where she was going.

“I didn’t know where I was walking. I could not see,” she said, as the audience laughed. Winfrey added that she even told security she needed help because she couldn’t see the path.

"So everybody who's saying you walking like you're 90, I could not see! I said to security, 'I can't see. I can't see. Tell me, tell me where I'm walking. I can't see'."

At the same time, King had her own problem. Winfrey said "And Gayle's like, 'I got two broken toes. I can't walk.' And that's the reason we looked like we were 90-years old."

Oprah Winfrey appeared stylish and confident at Paris Fashion Week alongside longtime friend Gayle King, wearing a bright and elegant outfit. She chose a salmon-pink double-breasted blazer, paired with khaki balloon pants and a white button-down shirt.

Her pants featured cargo-style pockets in the front, giving the outfit a relaxed, streetwear-inspired look. The trousers gathered around her ankles, creating a light and airy feel while showing off her pointed-toe heels.

Winfrey completed the look with a brown suede shoulder bag, which she held like a clutch. She also wore gold hoop earrings with pearl details and rimless round sunglasses. She paired the outfit with simple black high heels.

Meanwhile, King wore a white ribbed T-shirt dress with silver buttons along the side. Matching Winfrey’s neutral color palette, she finished her look with caramel-colored croc-embossed heels.

Although her outfit turned heads, it was clips of the star cautiously waddling down the red carpet, with King, 71, moving just as gingerly behind her, that quickly went viral.
