Ozzy Osbourne admits to using 'weed from time to time' behind wife Sharon's back amid health issues
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rock superstar Ozzy Osbourne has admitted that he is once again back to taking drugs despite his failing health but only behind his wife Sharon Osbourne's back.
The 75-year-old Black Sabbath star feels "tempted to return to stronger drugs" and has returned to smoking marijuana due to health issues that have prevented him from visiting the UK recently, the Daily Mail reported.
Ozzy Osbourne reveals he's back on drugs amid his failing health
The 'Ozzmosis' singer has revealed a startling new development in his continuing fight with addiction — he has returned to consuming marijuana — but hiding it from his wife Sharon, 71.
It's reported that he is also battling Parkinson's disease in addition to his recent neck and back issues, per the Mail.
Ozzy, who uses a wheelchair and crutches, has previously battled drug and alcohol addiction and said that he has returned to consuming "weed from time to time."
During his appearance on the 'Madhouse Chronicles Podcast', he said that his health issues had "tempted him to return to stronger drugs" ever since he began using marijuana once more.
"I am happier, but I am not completely sober. I use a bit of marijuana from time to time," Ozzy said.
The Black Sabbath artist, whose struggles with drug and alcohol abuse started in the 1970s, had been clean for a while, having checked himself into treatment for the first time in 1984.
Ozzy also acknowledged that his wife and longtime manager, Sharon, was his continual source of inspiration to prevent him from reverting to his former ways. However, cannabis has gradually resurfaced in his life.
"I am lucky my wife kicks my butt all the time and she would make life so difficult, Even with marijuana she will f***ing find it and get rid of it," he added.
Ozzy Osbourne reveals he previously tried ketamine
The 75-year-old metal musician revealed on his podcast that he attempted to use enough ketamine to "spark him" after being given the medication—which is meant to induce dizziness—during surgery.
"I went to a doctor recently and started to have this ketamine. He put a tiny bit in me, but that was enough to spark me. That thing came back and weighed my brain," he explained.
Ozzy also offered a wealth of guidance to others who could be experiencing addiction issues, even questioning his earlier choice to discontinue participation in Alcoholics Anonymous.
He noted, "If you are out there and you are using dope and you want to get off, there is plenty of help. AA is a 12-step program. It got me sorted out to a certain degree. I do not go to meetings myself anymore. Maybe I should do, I don't know."
Ozzy, who has been transparent about his struggles with addiction, claimed that many rock artists and musicians who take drugs in the California style of "micro-dosing" risk their lives. He claimed that he would not benefit from micro-dosing.
He reportedly further acknowledged that he believed he was unable to "do a thing creatively sober" while he was a rock star in the 1970s.
"I was the king of the world, a rock star and I had the biggest party ever. The thing is, I never thought I could do a f***ing thing of creativity (if I was sober)," Ozzy admitted.
Ozzy Osbourne thinks he should've died years before some of his late 'drinking buddies'
Ozzy Osbourne previously acknowledged that he should have died years before several of his late "drinking buddies" after he struggled with alcohol and drugs.
In an interview with Rolling Stones, Ozzy expressed his disbelief as to why he is still alive and talked candidly about his turbulent past with drugs and alcohol.
Ozzy talked about his feelings about outliving his pals, including UFO bass player Pete Way, with whom he shared the stage in the 1980s, and Motorhead star Lemmy, according to the Daily Mail.
He said at the time, "I've been doing a lot of reflection while I've been laid up, and all my drinking partners, I've realized they're all f*ing dead."
"I should have been dead before loads of them. Why am I the last man standing? Sometimes I look in the mirror and go, 'Why the f**k did you make it?" Ozzy added.
"I should have been dead a thousand times. I've had my stomach pumped God knows how many times," the rock star added.
