LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Golf influencer Paige Spiranac believes the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump could ultimately serve as a positive turning point for America.

The dramatic event, which occurred earlier this month at a Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, saw 20-year-old gunman Thomas Crooks fire multiple shots at the former president. Miraculously, Trump narrowly avoided a fatal injury by turning his head at the crucial moment, sustaining only a bloody ear.

Paige Spiranac sees silver lining in Trump's harrowing incident

Despite the gravity of the situation, Paige Spiranac, a former golfer turned influencer, is hopeful that the shooting could spark a much-needed national conversation about unity and peaceful dialogue.

"It was incredibly sad and there should never be a point where violence takes over," the golf star told Fox News about the shooting. "I am hopeful that this will spark a conversation [in which] you can have differences, but you can talk to one another in a way that is efficient, and we can use our words, and we can hear one another out, and we can be respectful of one another."

"I think it’s gone to a place where it’s been so hostile that we forget that we all have different upbringings and come from different backgrounds, and there are different experiences in our lives that have shaped us, and we can learn so much from [one] another that it just takes time, patience and respect," she emphasized. "I am hopeful that everyone can move forward; [it] doesn’t matter what side you’re on, that we can all agree that was not ok."

Trump’s resilience and political shift

The dramatic scene of Donald Trump being rushed off stage by the Secret Service, while giving a defiant fist salute with blood streaming down his face, became an iconic image of resilience. The incident resulted in the tragic death of a volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore and left two others gravely injured.

The failed assassination attempt has raised significant concerns about security, with the Secret Service facing scrutiny over apparent security lapses. The incident sent shockwaves around the globe, highlighting serious questions about the safety measures in place for high-profile figures.

Moreover, nearly a week after the attack, Trump received an unexpected boost when Joe Biden announced he would be dropping out of the presidential race this fall. Vice President Kamala Harris is poised to secure the Democratic Presidential nomination and run for the race in November.

Trump vs Biden potential golf showdown

While Donald Trump will not face Joe Biden in the presidential race, a different kind of showdown could be on the horizon. After their memorable debate about golf handicaps, there have been calls for a golf match between the two former rivals.

Spiranac has expressed interest in being a caddie for such an event. "I haven’t seen either of them play. I would love to caddie," she said. "I think that would be really interesting to hear the banter back and forth. But I think that would be amazing for the game of golf and quite interesting. I would 100 percent tune in for that."

Public divided over Spiranac’s optimistic view of Trump's assassination

Paige Spiranac’s take on the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump has sparked a heated debate online, with many users disagreeing with her perspective.

"I love you, Paige, but you are very wrong. It is not a good thing at all. One person died, and two more seriously injured. It will not unify the Country because Trump won't let it. He's already forgotten about unifying and is back to bullying," one user commented.

"I don't think the Comperatore family would see it the same," a second claimed.

"We're headed toward a civil war. That's not a good thing (for the Democrats)" a third added.

"Tell that to the woman who lost her husband. What an ignorant statement," remarked a user.

"American is compromised of different kinds of people from different backgrounds. I never judge someone for being spiritual and God Fearing or Conservative. Also i never judge anyone for being a liberal. There are good people on both sides of the isle. Plus bad people on both sides of the isle. Being issue is lack of knowledge about the other side. Therefore, one is raised to despise the other-side without any bit of evidence to back it up," read a comment.
