DALLAS, TEXAS: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce received thunderous boos as he was introduced on the big screen at Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

The Kansas City star was sitting next to his teammate Patrick Mahomes, to whom the crowd of the American Airlines Center was more embracing.

Boos for Travis Kelce, cheers for Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes had his wife Brittany sitting along with him, and NFL player Marquise Brown was also present in the front row.

The game was played between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves, and the former decided to troll Kelce calling him Taylor Swift's boyfriend on their social media too, reported Fox News.

"Our guy Pat and @taylorswift13’s boyfriend in the house!" the team captioned while sharing the clip of the NFL star on X.

Mahomes, who grew up in Texas, is close to Dallas. Interestingly, Mahomes also used to play his college football at Texas Tech in Lubbock. Kelce and Mahomes will now aim to lift the Super Bowl for the third consecutive time in the upcoming season for the Kansas City team.

Meanwhile, in the NBA, Mavericks have been ruthless during their playoff games, and have taken a strong lead of 3-0 on their home turf.

Internet tries to explain Travis Kelce's booing by Dallas Mavericks crowd

Netizens share their thoughts on Travis Kelce's booing meanwhile cheering for his teammate Patrick Mahomes.

One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Classic because he is a winner and people are jealous. Typical.”

"Don't do our Boy Travis dirty like that Dallas!" wrote another.

"That’s because he and his liberal girlfriend are out of touch with actual working Americans," a user remarked.

One reasoned, "Could be the fact that Mahomes played at Texas Tech."

"I can’t believe the guy not from Texas got booed and the guy from Texas got cheered. SHOCKING!!!!" expressed another.

"Patrick went to TTU Texas has a reason to like him no reason to like Kelce who’s from Ohio, played at Cincinnati and plays in KC," one explained.
