During an interview with Variety, Davidson said, “I don’t like it at all. It’s not cool.” Davidson was in a relationship with Grande for a couple of months, five months to be exact. Despite their relationship lasting only a few months, Davidson made it clear that he still supports Grande.
Reflecting on her strength, he said, “She’s a really strong person, I’ve witnessed it, and I don’t understand it.” Davidson also expressed confidence in how Grande handles public attention, saying, “She knows how to handle this stuff, though. She’s been around. So she’ll be OK, but I think it’s f****d up.”
He also gave an update on their current relationship. “I think Ariana’s cool and immensely talented and an awesome girl,” he said. “We’re not texting or whatever, but we’re cool.”
Beyond showing support for Grande, Davidson is promoting his upcoming role in David Leitch’s heist movie 'How to Rob a Bank.' Speaking about the role, Davidson said he gained 15 pounds of muscle to play a war veteran who robs a bank to support his family. The film is set to hit theaters on November 13.
Ariana Grande’s appearance sparks online speculation as singer takes step back from visibility
Back in July, Grande faced a wave of speculation about her appearance after her music video was released that month. The singer also faced comments about her weight following the release of her album 'Petal' and its title track video.
On August 2, Grande’s representative shared that she would “take a step back from visibility... which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.” Grande also shared that her break after her concert tour was not “reactive or impulsive” and that she had planned it “a long time ago.”
Moreover, Grande withdrew from the upcoming London West End revival of 'Sunday in the Park with George.' Her exit was followed by her co-star Jonathan Bailey’s departure from the production. The show was eventually scrapped.
