WASHINGTON, DC: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is facing backlash online after a report claimed that he’s asked for renovations to a room beside the Pentagon press briefing room.

He’s demanded the installment of a makeup studio, which can be utilized for getting ready before TV appearances, as reported by CBS News.

The publication citing two tipsters also disclosed that the changes may cost several thousand dollars.

Pete Hegseth slams makeup installation report, calls it ‘fake story’

However, a Defense Department spokesperson has justified it, saying, “Changes and upgrades to the Pentagon Briefing Room are nothing new and routinely happen during changes in an administration.”

Also, the defense secretary slammed the CBS report in a tweet.

“1) Totally fake story. No ‘orders’ and no ‘makeup’ — but whatever. 2) We should have installed tampon machines in every men’s bathroom at DoD instead — the leftist ‘news’ media would have loved that,” Hegseth posted.

Netizens ask Pete Hegseth to focus on not being ‘a national security risk’

But the critics of the former television presenter did not seem convinced.

Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) commented, “Nothing screams warrior culture more than a makeup studio. Hegseth was derelict in his duties by repeatedly using his personal phone to disclose ongoing combat operations, and is now wasting taxpayer dollars. How does a makeup studio at the Pentagon help troops? He needs to resign.”

“New makeup studios. Private trips on government helicopters. Millions for Trump’s golf outings. Billions to Musk’s companies. Trump and his cabinet think working people should lose Medicaid and Social Security. But they could care less about ‘efficiency’ when they benefit themselves,” Representative Greg Casar (D-TX) shared.

A tweet sarcastically said, “How gender-affirming 💄.”

A person tweeted, “You can’t make this up... wait, I guess you can.”

Another person asked, “Remember when MAGA was outraged about men getting dolled up at the Pentagon? What happened???”

The third one wrote, “You should resign in disgrace immediately. A makeup up studio? Doesn't sound like war fighting and lethality.”

“Maybe focus less on tampon jokes and more on not being a national security risk with a bourbon chaser,” a critic stated, referring to Hegseth’s Signal Chat scandals.

The second one posted, “My guy, my wife spends less time doing her hair than you do so cool it with the fake outrage. It’s not a far reach to believe you enjoy a touch of makeup for your thrice daily Fox News appearances.”

“We can see that you wear makeup.... we can see that trump wears makeup.... we arent blind....” a tweet read.
