WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News reporter Peter Doocy and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had a sarcastic exchange about President Joe Biden's availability in the evenings and the protocol for handling a nuclear threat after 8 pm, questioning whether the First Lady would be in charge.

Doocy's incisive question followed shortly after President Biden told governors of his intention to curtail his evening engagements to secure more rest. This statement prefaced Doocy's sharp questioning.

Brutal exchange between Peter Doocy and Karine Jean-Pierre

In the Fox News' video, Peter began his series of questions with, "We know the president says his health is fine and it's just his brain..."

Karine spoke up quickly, "The president was joking, you know he loves to joke, and this was a joke. He says I look like a 40-year-old. So, you know he jokes, and this was a joke."

As he was speaking with the governors, Biden made the joke, "I’m fine — I don’t know about my brain, though."  The chairwoman of Biden's campaign, Jen O'Malley Dillon, confirmed that the president was “clearly making a joke and then said, ‘All kidding aside'."

With a rise in his sarcastic tone, Peter went on, "[Biden’s] sharpest before 8:00 PM. So say that the Pentagon at some point picks up an incoming nuke. It's 11:00 PM. Who do you call? The first lady?”

Karine, visibly annoyed, retorted, “He has a team that lets him know of any news that is pertinent and important to the American people.”
