WASHINGTON, DC: A photo of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz's family supporting Donald Trump has the Internet buzzing.

The image, which surfaced on Wednesday, September 4, features eight members of the Walz family in "Nebraska Walz's (sic) for Trump" shirts, standing in front of a "Trump 2024 – Take America Back" flag.

Is Tim Walz's family backing Donald Trump photo real?

The photo was initially shared by a family friend with representative, Charles W Herbster, a former Nebraska gubernatorial candidate. The representative then posted the image on X (formerly known as Twitter), according to the Daily Mail.

The individuals in the photo are reportedly members of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's family through his grandfather's brother. Herbster's contact confirmed to the publication the identities and relations of those pictured to Governor Walz.

Herbster captioned the image on X, saying, "Tim Walz's family back in Nebraska wants you to know something..."

Tim Walz's brother Jeff Walz doesn't agree with Democrat's policies

The emergence of this pro-Trump faction within the Walz family comes after it was revealed that Tim Walz's brother, Jeff Walz, had publicly opposed him and with whom he hasn't spoken for eight years.

Jeff, 67, of Florida, expressed his disagreement with his brother's political ideology in a Facebook post last week.

"I'm 100% opposed to all his ideology," Jeff stated in one of the posts. However, he later clarified that he did not intend to influence voters with his social media activity.

"It wasn't my intent, it wasn't our intent as a family, to put something out there to influence the general public," he told NewsNation.

Jeff continued, "I was getting a lot of feedback from my friends, old acquaintances, thinking that I was feeling the same way that my brother did on the issues, and I was trying to clarify that just to friends."

Internet split over photo of Tim Walz's family supporting Donald Trump for 2024 race

The leaked photo has elicited mixed reactions on social media. Even as users are showing excitement some continue to question the authenticity of the image.

"Thank you for this photo!" one user wrote on X. Another commented, "Beautiful sight."

However, not everyone was pleased with the image. "Jeff Walz family. I question their character & sanity," one person commented. Another suggested, "None of them are actually related to VP nominee but nice try."

Some users were skeptical about the authenticity of the photo. "Brainwashed," one person wrote, while another questioned, "That's some bad AI."

Others noticed errors in the image. "The grammar error on those shirts saddens me," one user pointed out.
