NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Piers Morgan challenged Candace Owens during her June 12 interview on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored', addressing a conspiracy theory she has endorsed alleging that French First Lady Brigitte Macron was born male as a man named Jean-Michel Trogneux, her maiden surname, with that name going viral as a hashtag.

Reportedly, Owens vehemently attacked the First Lady in a now-deleted YouTube video posted on March 11, propagating a false claim that originated in France just weeks before the 2022 presidential election.

Morgan challenges Owens on Macron conspiracy theory in heated debate

Their conversation spanned topics from the Israel-Hamas conflict to Ye (formerly Kanye West). At one juncture, Morgan confronted Owens about the Macron conspiracy theory, labeling it as "outrageous" and accusing Owens of promoting it solely for attention and online engagement.

“You have produced zero evidence that she is a man,” Morgan told Owens.

He added, “It’s been deeply offensive to her, her husband President [Emmanuel] Macron, to all of her family. You keep promoting it to millions of people who follow you, and I simply ask why. She’s not a man, she’s a woman.”

“I think Brigitte Macron is a trans woman and I think the fact that Brigitte Macron —” Owens responded before Morgan jumped back in.

“But she’s not,” he said as Owens responded, “Okay,” with frustration.

“Where’s your evidence that she is?” Morgan asked, as Owens clarified, “Well, Piers, the thing is I’m not allowed to speak after you ask me a question, so I don’t really know what the purpose of this is anymore. You just seem to kind of be saying your own thoughts."

Morgan bets $100K against Owens’ claim French First Lady is a man

The exchange between Owens and Morgan escalated with Owens mocking Morgan with a fake British accent and Morgan calling Owens an opportunist, stating, "I don’t believe for a moment that you believe Brigitte Macron is a man."

Morgan even offered a $100,000 bet that an upcoming libel trial would prove Brigitte Macron was born a woman, referencing previous court fines against others spreading the conspiracy.

Owens claimed Brigitte Macron lived as a man for 30 years, fathered three children, and is actually her assumed brother, demanding a photo of her before 30 to drop the theory.

Morgan dismissed her arguments as "complete bulls**t," noting any photo would be dismissed as fake by conspiracy theorists like Owens.

“I’ll bet you. Why don’t we have like a 100,000 pound bet that it establishes beyond any doubt — to a charity of your choice and mine — $100,000, we’ll make it dollars, right now that it is established beyond any doubt that she was born a woman. Do you accept that bet?” Morgan asked.

Owens refused to take Morgan's bet, citing distrust in the court system due to Donald Trump’s hush money trial. She offered to pay the money if Morgan’s “team of journalists” could produce the photos she claimed would end the conspiracy theory.

"If you’re asking me to wage a bet on the basis of what happens in a trial and in a courtroom, the state versus some journalists, you are out of your mind," she said.

Netizens slam Owens for her bizzare claim

Owens faced severe criticism as she claimed that the First Lady of France, Brigette Macron, was actually born a man.

One viewer shared, "How do we know Candace wasn't born a man?"

In a similar vein, another observer chimed in, "Starting to look that way. These people project all the time, and she has also accused Michelle Obama of being a man."

A viewer highlighted, "I mean, conservatives are all about projection..."

Another said, "She is kinda butch."

A comment emphasized, "It takes someone like Candace Owen’s to make piers Morgan look like the rational one."

Another noted, "If you are in an argument with Piers Morgan, and his is the voice of reason, you might want to consider your life choices that have led you to this point....."

Someone else elaborated, "Candace Owens is a notable voice for the right nowadays. These are the type of views the GOP base gobbles up nowadays."
