'It's time to go': Protesters demand Biden's withdrawal from 2024 race as they agitate at White House
WASHINGTON, DC: A group of protesters, who identified themselves as Democrats, organized a demonstration outside the White House on Saturday, July 20. They demanded President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential against Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Pass the Torch, a brand-new Democratic political action committee, organized the demonstration. Theo organization describes itself as "a grassroots campaign to call on President Biden to step aside as the nominee for President and support the candidate best able to beat Trump."

On Friday, July 19, the organizers ran television advertisements urging Joe Biden to step aside. The ads were broadcast in the Washington DC area and the President's home state of Delaware.
By Saturday afternoon, the group was chanting, “Hey, hey! Ho ho! Thank you, Joe, it’s time to go!” in front of the White House. David Weigel of Semafor uploaded a video of the demonstration on X (formerly Twitter).

“We need a presidential nominee who has the best chance to beat Trump, and an increasingly large majority of Democrats believe that President Biden is not that candidate and should step aside,” Aaron Regunberg, a member of Pass The Torch, stated, Mediaite reported.
“Young people refuse to let our futures hinge on Biden’s failing poll numbers.”

He went on to say, "That’s why we’re organizing something that’s harder to ignore—a demonstration in front of the White House. Because we have not resigned ourselves to a second Trump presidency. We still have time to avert catastrophe and change course.”
