‘Reacher’ star Alan Ritchson and wife Catherine split after 20 years, vow to co-parent three sons
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Another split in Hollywood. ‘Reacher’ actor Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine, have decided to end their marriage after two decades. The couple announced their separation in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, September 12.
For those unaware, the two were not professionally related but first met in high school and tied the knot in 2006. The couple are parents to three sons, Calem, Edan, and Amory.

The high school sweethearts have decided to part ways but remain committed to co-parenting their three sons.
They also assured fans that they will continue working together to make their sons’ future and lives as stable and happy as possible. Their children are Calem, 13, Edan, 12, and Amory, 10.
Sharing the joint note, Ritchson wrote on Instagram, “After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way. We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”
The actor continued to emphasize that their priority remains their children. “Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us or the love and respect we will always share,” he said.
“The best gift we can give one another - and our boys - right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.”
He also noted that they want to give each other space as they navigate this new chapter. “We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming,” he wrote.
Ritchson acknowledged that major life changes can be difficult, especially under public scrutiny, and asked for privacy as his family navigates the transition. “We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion,” he concluded.
“Thank you for supporting us as we continue making the health and happiness of our family our priority.”

uring an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor shared that he met his wife while they were taking ballet classes at a nearby state college when they were in high school. The two bonded while working on a play together that summer.
“I thought she was a college student, so I was afraid to talk to her. I figured there was no point because she’s going to be older than me, but I found out she was doing the exact same thing that I was.”
“We finally spoke and then did a play together that summer. We ended up dating and I was madly in love, but she also lived far enough away that when the play was over, I figured we were never going to see each other again,” he shared.
The two eventually went their separate ways. However, they reconnected in 2006 and later decided to get married.
