WASHINGTON, DC: House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) is set to speak at the Israeli parliament, know as Knesset, on the morning of Sunday, May 19, reported Fox News.

The media house claimed to have obtained a copy of her prepared speech ahead of the address, based on which the Congresswoman is expected to lambast President Joe Biden over his stance on the Middle Eastern ally and promote the presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

She will also be reaffirming her long-standing support for Israel as a senior member of the House Armed Services and House Intelligence committees.

What can be expect from Rep Elise Stefanik's Israel trip?

Elise Stefanik will be the highest-ranked member in the US House of Representatives to visit Israel since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.

According to her office, she will be introduced to the Israeli parliament by their speaker. Apart from delivering the prepared speech, Stefanik also plans to meet with high-level government officials and visit the places that the Hamas attack occurred at.

The prepared speech of Rep Elise Stefanik

In the speech, Stefanik has referred to herself as "a lifelong admirer, supporter, and friend of Israel and the Jewish people."

"I am lucky to have had the privilege of traveling here many times before, but I must confess that this time feels different. The stakes feel higher. Our sense of moral, patriotic duty feels heightened, renewed," it reads.

The relationship that former president Donald Trump had with Israel is praised in the speech, while that of the Biden administration has been criticized.

The White House had recently withheld a shipment of offensive weapons to Israel citing concerns about Israel's intention to launch a ground invasion of Rafah, but later went forward with the sale.

"There is no excuse for an American president to block aid to Israel, aid that was duly passed by the Congress, or to ease sanctions on Iran, paying a $6 billion ransom to the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, or to dither and hide while our friends fight for their lives. No excuse, full stop," continues the speech.

Stefanik will be expressing support for "every measure to aid Israel that has come before the US Congress," touting herself as "a leading proponent and partner to President Trump in his historic support for Israeli independence and security."

"If I leave you with one message today, it’s this: The majority of Americans support you, and we always will since President Truman’s recognition of Israel 11 minutes after David Ben-Gurion declared Israel’s independence 76 years and 5 days ago. America stands with Israel," says the Congresswoman's address.

Internet feels Rep Elise Stefanik's speech will undermine US

"Great. Undermining our official position," a social media user pointed out sarcastically while responding to the news on X (formerly Twitter).

"Politicians always do this. They just want to score points with their base," shared another.

"She hates that Biden puts American interests ahead of Israel's," commented a third.

"Why does anyone from Congress need to visit Israel?" inquired a fourth user.

"Only could todays gop visit Israel and bash Biden who just gave them weapons to defend themselves from Hamas as wanting them to fail," stated a fifth.
