WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump is reportedly irritated by Kari Lake's regular trips to Mar-a-Lago, Trump's resort and political home base in Palm Beach, Florida, according to the Washington Post.

Notably, the report claims that at one point, Trump even "gently suggested to Lake that she should leave the club and hit the campaign trail" in Arizona, where Lake is scheduled to compete in a very competitive Senate race against Democratic Rep Ruben Gallego during fall.

Although Republicans have mostly concentrated on unseating Democratic senators in Ohio and Montana, Lake's campaign is nonetheless significant despite not being the most significant Senate race this season.

Moreover, Republicans' prospects of regaining the chamber will get enhanced if she is successful in making the election more competitive. This might make or break Trump's ability to lead if he is elected to a second term, as per Business Insider.

Without explicitly responding to the Post's reporting, a Trump representative told the media outlet that Lake is a 'smart and fearless leader who will WIN in Arizona'. According to a senior advisor of Lake, who spoke with the Post, the senator is 'running a strong campaign'.

However, throughout her current campaign, Lake has made many trips out of state for speaking engagements and campaign events. The Arizona Democratic Party has featured the candidate's most recent travels in newsletters headed 'Where In The World Is Kari Lake?' quite frequently.

Moreover, Lake seemed to rescind her stated opposition to Arizona's new abortion law while addressing a Republican gathering in Idaho recently, stating that the law was "unfortunately" not being implemented.

Internet reacts to Trump's annoyance over Lake's frequent Mar-a-Lago jaunts

Many social media users trolled Trump and Lake on social media platform X.

A user wrote, "Will he dump Lake in the lake or just throw her under the bus like all the other GREAT people he chose that disappointed him."

Another added, "She probably doesn't pay her bills either."

A user also stated, "Kari Lake and Donald Trump are two losers who deserve each other.

Another said "Trump doesn’t like people grifting off him. Haha. How about that."

A person also wrote, "Both bigly losers, I can't believe Trump would use someone like that" while one stated, "Kari Lake hasn't been able to hold down any form of employment for several years, she should head back to her home state and ask for help there..."

A user added, "She asked for cash. Donnie shares with no one."
