RFK Jr slammed as he admits to having 'many skeletons' amid assault allegations from babysitter
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Robert F Kennedy Jr. recently found himself in the hot seat when asked to address some unsettling allegations that surfaced in a Vanity Fair expose.
The report contained a photograph that led to speculation that Kennedy had once eaten what appeared to be a barbecued dog, along with accusations from a former babysitter who had worked for his family.
Robert F Kennedy Jr faces controversy amid allegations and clarifications
During a recent episode of the show 'Breaking Points,' co-host Sagaar Enjeti provided Kennedy, who is running for president in the 2024 election, with an opportunity to clarify these points. Kennedy explained that the photograph actually showed him eating goat meat in Patagonia, not a dog.
Despite this clarification, he was less forthcoming about the babysitter’s allegations. "Listen, I’ve said this from the beginning. I’m not a church boy," Kennedy stated. "I am not running like that ... I had a very, very rambunctious youth."
Kennedy further elaborated on his past, acknowledging his imperfections. "I said in my announcement speech that I have so many skeletons in my closet that if they could all vote, I could run for king of the world," he remarked. He accused Vanity Fair of recycling old stories, adding, "I am who I am."
Enjeti pressed Kennedy about the babysitter's allegations, asking, "You’re talking there about the nanny situation. I mean, I do have to ask, sir, are you denying it or not?"
"I’m not going to comment on it," Kennedy reiterated.
"All right," Enjeti responded. "Well, I gave you the opportunity. And officially, it’s a goat."
The babysitter, Eliza Cooney, accused Kennedy of inappropriate behavior during her employment. According to the Vanity Fair article, "Kennedy came up behind her, blocked her inside the room, and began groping her, putting his hands on her hips and sliding them up along her rib cage and breasts."
The article also mentioned that a co-worker interrupted the incident, advising Kennedy, "Don’t do anything you wouldn’t want your wife to know about."
Cooney's diary entries from 1998 and 1999, as cited in the report, revealed her apprehensions about working for the Kennedys. She wrote, "From everything everybody says about the Kennedys and their babysitters, they had me worried. Like I have to watch out, be careful."
"And the other night in the kitchen w/ Murray I could have sworn he was touching my leg + hand. It seemed like he thought I was somebody else or wasn’t paying attention. Like he would come to every once in a while and snap out of it or I would move away. It was like he was on something or really tired or was missing Mary or was testing me," Cooney added.

"That's probably not the answer he shoulda gave," one posted on X. [sic]
"Wait, what? Did he or didn't he? That's not a complicated thing to answer," another wrote.
"I'd be able to say no if you asked me a question like that," someone else offered.
"Wow! What a shame. Not sure about this. But looks real bad," a comment read.
"If you're running to be the leader of the free world you damn well better talk about it," another chimed in.

Campaign struggles
In the midst of these controversies, Kennedy's independent presidential campaign is struggling with significant financial challenges. The campaign has accumulated substantial debt and has been forced to reduce staff as it prioritizes the expensive task of securing ballot access across multiple states.
According to federal filings and interviews with those familiar with the campaign’s operations, these financial pressures have severely limited the ability to conduct traditional campaign activities and events.
Fundraising has slowed, and the campaign has become increasingly dependent on Kennedy’s wealthy running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who recently contributed $2.5 million to their efforts.
Supporters of Kennedy have been raising money for a new organization aimed at supporting legal challenges to ballot access, creating a separate funding stream to address this critical issue, per the New York Times.
