Rob Reiner's murder-accused son Nick Reiner reportedly disciplined after 'verbal disturbance' in jail
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nick Reiner allegedly became involved in a verbal confrontation with jail deputies at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility while in custody awaiting trial in the case involving the deaths of his parents.
The reported incident took place on April 27 and allegedly resulted in disciplinary action after he was accused of violating jail rules.

According to the report published by PEOPLE on July 29, the alleged incident unfolded at around 8:15 am on Monday, April 27, after he finished taking a shower and wanted deputies to escort him back to his cell. When deputies did not return immediately, Reiner allegedly began "yelling, screaming, being disrespectful" and was reportedly "refusing to follow rules and not listening to any commands."
The report further claimed that he was "shouting many profanities" at authorities. A source told the outlet that he was "very impatient" with deputies, who were reportedly responding to a medical emergency elsewhere in the jail at the time.
It further added that the 32-year-old became "upset and hostile" and was "frustrated and angry" as the delay continued. Following the alleged incident, Reiner reportedly received a disciplinary write-up for violating jail rules.
According to the source, he lost several inmate privileges, including access to phone calls, visitation and commissary. The report also stated that a disciplinary officer later met with him to discuss the alleged behavior.
Reiner has remained in custody since his arrest following the December 14 deaths of his parents. Medical staff reportedly diagnosed him with having a "mental disability," after which he was placed under enhanced monitoring at the correctional facility.
During his first court appearance on December 17, he appeared shackled and wearing a sleeveless blue smock intended to prevent self-harm. Reports following his arrest also stated that he had previously been prescribed medication for schizophrenia after being diagnosed years earlier and that his medication had reportedly been changed or adjusted before the killings.

Reiner was arrested and charged following the December 14 deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, who were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, California, home. Their death certificates stated that they died within "minutes" of sustaining "multiple sharp force injuries" inflicted "with [a] knife, by another" inside the home.
Rob was discovered by daughter Romy Reiner at about 3:45 pm, while Michele was found shortly afterward. Nick Reiner was arrested hours later in the Exposition Park neighborhood and formally charged on December 16. If convicted, he faces life in state prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty, though prosecutors have not yet decided whether to seek capital punishment.
He pleaded not guilty in February. During a brief court hearing on April 23, he waived his right to expedite proceedings by agreeing to a general time waiver and answered only "yes" when asked whether he understood the delay.
He again appeared in court on April 29 wearing a yellow smock and plastic restraints, sitting stone-faced as the court confirmed a preliminary hearing date of September 15.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Chung told the court that prosecutors still had nearly two terabytes of discovery to provide to the defense and that autopsy reports had yet to be completed, though no reason was given for the delay.
When contacted, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office told Entertainment Weekly, "Due to the court order initiated by the LAPD, the Department cannot release any information related to these cases."
