NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday, May 13, revealed that he had a “very significant spiritual experience” while battling a life-threatening case of pneumonia that put him in a coma.

The 81-year-old former mayor explained that during his time in the hospital, he felt he was “headed for a trial by St. Peter” before receiving a message from a late friend.

Giuliani recalls meeting late best friend during spiritual encounter

During his first broadcast of “America’s Mayor Live!” since his health scare, Giuliani described a vivid dream he had while he was unconscious.

He told his audience, “I also had a very, very significant spiritual experience at a time in which I was in a state of like … out of it. I would equate it to a dream of my being on line headed for, I can’t say headed for heaven, headed for a trial by St. Peter.”

He explained that his longtime friend and former top aide, Peter J. Powers, appeared to him to offer guidance.

Giuliani noted the importance of this moment, saying, “There was a very significant intervention by my Peter, I have my own Peter… Peter J. Powers, my friend of my lifetime.”

Giuliani records 'significant words' to ensure accuracy of his vision

Giuliani felt the encounter was so real that he wanted to make sure he didn't forget any details.

He had his son, Andrew, record his retelling of the dream right by his hospital bed.

He shared that “Peter said some very significant words, and I made sure, as soon as I woke up, I started telling people and recorded it in part.”

After waking up, he even spoke to a priest about the vision. He promised to share more details soon but emphasized his honesty, stating, “I don't want to embellish it, and I don’t want to deny what was there.”

Giuliani makes rapid progress and thanks Trump for support

It is to be noted that the former mayor was hospitalized in critical condition on May 3 with viral pneumonia, which may be connected to illnesses he developed after the September 11 attacks.

Despite slipping into a coma, he told listeners of “The Rudy Giuliani Show” that he is recovering well and even started walking up stairs again.

He said, “I'm in the middle of making a very, very full and complete recovery. Today, I did physical exercise, walked up and down stairs, and walked all around. I feel 100 percent, but im probably not.”

Giuliani also praised President Donald Trump for checking on him, saying, “Of course, I have to thank the president, of whom I had a very good conversation after I got into the hospital,” and calling him “a godsend to this country.”
