NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rudy Giuliani’s lawyers have reportedly claimed that their client’s health is not in good condition as he might be battling 9/11 lung disease amid his bankruptcy case.

The former mayor of New York City filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy late last year after he was ordered to make a payment of $148 million to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss by a federal jury in Washington, DC.

If Giuliani's request is dismissed, he will file a new plea, asking for an evidentiary hearing.

Giuliani had accused the two Georgia election workers of voter fraud after the 2020 election.

Creditors wanted ‘trustee to take control of’ Rudy Giuliani’s finances

But the bankruptcy filing resulted in his creditors alleging that “the Debtor has shown his preference for delay, diversion and theatrics over progress, rehabilitation and maximization of value for his creditors. His creditors do not need to accept this as their plight,” as reported by The Guardian.

They also demanded “the immediate appointment of a Chapter 11 trustee to take control of the Debtor’s assets and financial affairs.”

However, now Gary C Fischoff and Joan A Keely expressed their objection in a new 17-page court filing on behalf of Giuliani.

They wrote, as reported by Newsweek, “The debtor is an 80-year-old former attorney, is barred from practicing law. His only source of employment income is generated from his personal services.”

“He is suffering from possible 9/11 lung disease and his future earning capacity is limited both by his age and future health,” the lawyers added.

Besides, earlier Giuliani's adviser, Ted Goodman, slammed the creditors.

He told Newsweek, “These ridiculous court filings are part of a larger effort to try to bully the mayor into silence through lawfare and a public smear campaign. Mayor Rudy Giuliani—one of America's most effective federal prosecutors and one of the most successful mayors we've ever had—won't be taken down.”

Goodman added that they had "nothing better to do than harass a man who has dedicated his life to improving the lives of the community and people around him."

Rudy Giuliani called ‘diseased lung’

Meanwhile, people have blasted Giuliani online after the new filing as a Facebook user commented, “Lol. 9-11 lung disease. It's ordinary lung disease wrapped in a cloak of conspiracy.”

Another user said, “The guy who gave fireman communicators that did not work ..if he is sick this is God's punishment, but he is of course not telling the truth ...again!”

“PLEASE do not hurt yourself laughing! ⁦⁦ @RudyGiuliani ⁩ cooks up a scheme to try to slow creditors collecting in bankruptcy. 😂🤣😂 Rudy Giuliani May Have 9/11 Lung Disease, His Attorney Says 🤣😂🤣 I 💭 I had heard it all,” a person X sarcastically tweeted.

Another person wrote, “He looks like a diseased lung.”

“The fact that Rudy MAY have 9/11 lung disease has no bearing on the order for him to pay election workers he defamed. First responders have fought for years for coverage for their illnesses. Rudy can get in line. In the meantime, pay what you owe!” the third one added.
