Speaking to Empire magazine, Feige said, "It was Gosling who had the vision… It was Gosling who had the pitch that won over Shawn, that had them come and pitch us this idea, which led to us on stage today."

Feige's comments gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the 'Ghost Rider' project came together.

Levy also shared his excitement about working with Gosling again after their previous collaboration on 'Star Wars: Starfighter'. The filmmaker joined Gosling and Feige on stage at San Diego Comic-Con, where he reconnected with Marvel fans.

"I’m having the greatest flashback vibes here, because I was here two years ago when we showed Deadpool and Wolverine. I’ll never forget that night, because I was introduced to the greatest fans.

"Gosling is the absolute. I say that with tremendous respect," he added.

He continued, "We spent a lot of time last year making Starfighter, and the opportunity as Ryan started talking about this character, I was like, ‘Bro, let’s ride.’ We’ll see you in 2028!”

Before the new MCU version arrives, 'Ghost Rider' already has a history on the big screen.

Nicolas Cage played Johnny Blaze in the 2007 'Ghost Rider' film and its 2011 sequel. Interestingly, Gosling's wife, Eva Mendes, was also part of the original movie, playing Johnny Blaze's love interest.

Cage's version became a memorable part of Marvel's live-action history, and the original film helped bring the character into the spotlight.

Now, the question remains: Will Gosling carry forward the legacy Cage left behind as the flame-skulled antihero, or will he bring a completely different version of 'Ghost Rider'?
