SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Reynolds marked a major 'Deadpool' milestone with a heartfelt tribute for completing 10 years on the big screen. The actor attended San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 25, where he pulled off one of the event's best surprises by blending into the crowd in a blue denim and gray-toned Deadpool suit.

The twist? Most fans thought he was just another cosplayer, with no clue it was the real Reynolds behind the mask.

After the event, Reynolds shared a reel on X (formerly Twitter) featuring some of the day's standout moments before thanking the Marvel faithful, writing, "The fans got Deadpool off the ground so many years ago."

The actor also summed up the experience with another post, writing, “No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT.” Judging by his reaction, spending the day among fans without anyone recognizing him may have been the ultimate Comic-Con win.

Ryan Reynolds celebrates 10 years of 'Deadpool' by surprising fans at SDCC

Reynolds captioned his post, "Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world."

The reel captured the actor fully embracing Deadpool's chaotic energy as he posed for photos with fans, snapped selfies with children, greeted fellow cosplayers, and even stopped to take pictures with another fan dressed as the iconic red-suited antihero.

Whether it was meeting a Joker cosplayer or blending into the Comic-Con crowd, Reynolds celebrated Deadpool's 10-year milestone in goofy, unpredictable, and effortlessly fun ways.

Under the same post, Reynolds added, “No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT. Thanks to everyone I met, who aren’t only cosplaying but world-building. And also... actual Sergeant Slaughter!”

For those unaware, although Deadpool got his first standalone film in 2016, Reynolds first appeared as Wade Wilson/Deadpool in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', released in 2009.

More than a decade later, the antihero remains one of Marvel's most popular characters, and Reynolds' latest Comic-Con appearance proved the Deadpool hype is still going strong.

Ryan Reynolds steals the show at Marvel’s SDCC with hilarious Deadpool banter

Reynolds was at Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, where he brought his trademark Deadpool humor to the stage.

Staying in character, the actor introduced himself as a devoted fan and joked, “Huge fan, look at that cast. I’m not wearing the Doom mask over this mask because I didn’t want to ruin the likes of my Canadian tuxedo. My name is Ricky, that’s a mononym, like Cher or Madonna, and I’m just cosplaying hard.”

When asked if he had a question, Reynolds replied, “I do have a question, actually. Two questions. First question is for Paul Rudd. Where’s Thor and why was he crying?” Rudd quickly played along, quipping, “Where is Thor? And why is Thor crying? Uh, he’s a Wrexham fan,” poking fun at Reynolds’ soccer club, Wrexham AFC.

Reynolds then turned his attention to 'Avengers: Doomsday', joking, “Second question. Moving on. This seems like an awfully expensive way to announce the film. Uh, when do you start filming?”

Robert Downey Jr fired back without missing a beat, “It’s in the can bro; look around you. Did you bump your head?” Reynolds kept the exchange going, asking, “I see. So, there’s no additional photography? No overages, high costs, maybe last-minute additions?”

After getting his answer, Reynolds wrapped up the playful exchange with a deadpan, “No further questions.”
