Sabrina Carpenter’s 31-year-old alleged stalker fights permanent restraining order in court
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sabrina Carpenter’s stalking case has taken a fresh turn, with new court developments adding another layer to an already unsettling situation.
The 31-year-old William Applegate, previously arrested outside Carpenter’s Hollywood Hills home, is now fighting the singer’s request for a permanent restraining order. He is seeking to block the order that would legally prevent him from approaching her.
William Applegate fights Sabrina Carpenter's permanent restraining order
According to recent court updates reported by TMZ, Applegate, accused of repeatedly showing up at Carpenter’s residence, is now contesting the restraining order that was placed to keep him away.
This comes after his earlier arrest outside her property, where authorities responded following multiple alleged attempts to approach and enter the singer’s home. Applegate said he does not believe Carpenter wanted the restraining order.
He further described it as “brought against Carpenter's will by her employed security group and the Los Angeles Police Department in conjunction with her legal team as an artifact of a military government program's maligned instructions.”

He claimed that Carpenter’s Coachella performances on April 10 and April 17 were “made for and directed at me.” Applegate also alleged that Carpenter and her family were aware of his presence outside her home from the moment it began in April.
Now, instead of accepting the court-imposed restrictions, Applegate is fighting the order in court. Legal filings suggest he is challenging the necessity of the protection order, setting up a hearing where a judge will decide whether it should remain in effect long term or be modified.
Sabrina Carpenter obtained restraining order after alleged stalking incidents
The restraining order was initially granted after Carpenter told the court she had no prior connection to the individual and described the repeated incidents as deeply distressing.
Reports at the time indicated that security footage from her property captured Applegate at her doorstep, prompting immediate concern and police involvement. He was detained following one of the incidents, but the situation did not end there.

A Los Angeles court approved Sabrina Carpenter’s restraining order on June 1, after she filed it days earlier. In her complaint, she called William Applegate’s behavior disturbing and described his belief he knew her as a “delusional” fixation.
She said it caused her emotional distress and fear. She also cited a May 23 incident where he allegedly refused to leave her property despite warnings.
The upcoming court proceedings will determine whether the restraining order remains in effect permanently, as Carpenter continues to seek legal protection while Applegate contests the restrictions placed on him.
