LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, SOUTH CAROLINA: A South Carolina pastor and husband of a woman, who took her own life days after she filed for divorce, reportedly confessed to uploading an explicit photo of her to a Facebook group shortly before her death.
It is alleged that Pastor John-Paul Miller wrote an apology email in which he admitted to posting the image in an attempt to harm his wife Mica Miller after she began to reveal his wrongdoings.
John-Paul Miller apologized for uploading Mica Miller's explicit images
John-Paul Miller admitted to posting a picture of his wife in her underwear on social media in an email that is thought to have been sent by him. “I’m sorry for putting a picture of you on the internet,” the apology email read, as reported by NewsNation.
It further read, “It was for less than one hour and immediately taken down. I was hurt that you were telling everyone horrible intimate details of my past sin, and I just wanted to try and hurt you."
“Please forgive me. It was evil of me to do that,” he added.
The email of apology was sent after Mica filed a legal complaint on April 8, against her husband before her death for posting her explicit images online to a Facebook group. Mica allegedly told police that she sent the photo only to her husband.
Police, however, claimed they were powerless to take any action because the photo did not meet the legal definition of topless because the nipples were blurry out.
A police report said, “The complainant further advised that he is the only person she has ever sent that type of photo to. Although the complainants' breasts are exposed the nipple is blurred out, not meeting the SC Code of Law for nudity.”
There was "no way to prove he was the one who actually posted the photo" because the image was also uploaded under an anonymous account.
Authorities also informed Mica as per reports, "Once a photo is sent the person who the photo was sent to is now the owner of the photo."
Mica Miller claimed John-Paul Miller 'harassed' her
The apology email was sent several days following Mica's submission of an affidavit to her attorney, detailing the abuse for the divorce proceedings. The affidavit was sent around nine days before her death.
“Since the day we became husband and wife, I have been abused in every way I can think of,” Mica said. "Emotionally, sexually, spiritually, financially, and physically," she added.
She went on to say, “He has harassed me physically and electronically with letters, phone calls, emails, and texts, hacking my emails, hacking my personal Facebook, and impersonating me."
“Using my stolen phone to send texts and emails out to church members pretending to be me, texting friends and family saying that I am sleeping with teenagers from our church, and showing up in person at places around town," she added.
Mica added, “To having installed 3 different tracking devices on my vehicle.”
Mica lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and her body was found 1.5 hours north of her home. Pastor Miller is not a suspect in Mica's death, which is still under investigation even though it has been ruled a suicide.
Mica was declared self-inflicted on Monday, May 6 and a medical examiner verified that the gunshot wound was the cause of death.
