NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News anchor Sean Hannity tore into Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over former president Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial at the Manhattan Criminal Court, during the monologue of 'Hannity' on Tuesday, May 28.

The trial is soon set to end, with the closing arguments beginning on Tuesday itself. Taking advantage of the media attention surrounding the event, the Biden campaign showed up outside the courthouse on Tuesday along with Robert De Niro to draw people's attention toward the upcoming election.

The sharp rebuke of Donald Trump which was heard from De Niro during his press conference did not sit well with Hannity, who went on to slam the veteran actor on his show as well.

Sean Hannity on Judge Juan Merchan

Stating that Judge Juan Merchan should have recused himself from the case at the beginning of the trial, Hannity explained how he had "basically placed cinderblocks on the scales of justice."

"First he attempted to silence Donald Trump with an unconstitutional gag order, then he allowed the prosecution to run wild with speculation, and insinuate in court that Trump was guilty of phantom election violations that weren't even charged or prosecuted," he continued.

Hannity addressed the witnesses that Merchan allowed the prosecution to call as "shady characters," referring to Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen in particular.

While objections by the defense were almost always overruled, the opposite was true for those made by the prosecution, he claimed.

"Judge Merchan's disdain for all things Trump was palpable from the beginning to the end, but his adherence to the law was nowhere to be found. This is by every measure, a travesty of justice perpetrated by Judge Juan Merchan," he added.

Sean Hannity on Robert De Niro

Responding to De Niro's claims that Donald Trump could destroy the country, as well as the world if elected as President of the United States in 2024, Hannity stated, "Like Biden, De Niro's best years are behind him. Sadly, he suffers from one of the worst cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome we've ever seen."

"Contrary to what you heard from De Niro, the greatest threat to our American republic, this great republic of ours, this constitutional republic, is not from the guy facing real prison time because of this political show trial," he continued, hitting back with, "Instead, it would be the far-left prosecutors, the bureaucrats who have turned your system of justice into a tool for political retribution."

"Our constitutional republic be damned. Equal justice under the law be damned. Equal application of our laws be damned. Welcome to Joe Biden's America," concluded Hannity.
