LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sebastian Stan revealed during a recent question-and-answer session that he feels isolated when promoting 'The Apprentice', the biopic about Donald Trump.

The actor shared that his attempts to engage other actors in discussions about the film have been met with hesitation.

Sebastian Stan reveals why 'The Apprentice's promotion is facing problems

While promoting 'The Apprentice' in Los Angeles this week, Sebastian Stan spoke candidly about the challenges surrounding its publicity.

Stan mentioned that he was invited to participate in Variety’s 'Actors on Actors' interview series but faced difficulties finding a fellow actor willing to join him for the discussion.

"They were too afraid to go and talk about this movie," Stan said during an appearance alongside 'The Apprentice' director Ali Abbasi. He added, "So I couldn’t do it," Daily Beast reported.

"I’ve got to do a lot of great things, and that’s not pointing at anyone specific. It was—we couldn’t get past the publicists or the people representing them, because [the actors were] too afraid to talk about this movie," he explained.

He expressed concern over the implications of such avoidance, stating, "That’s when I think we lose the situation, because if it really becomes like that—fear or that discomfort to talk about this, then we’re really going to have a problem."

Sebastian Stan hits back at Donald Trump over censorship efforts

Sebastian Stan has not shied away from speaking about Donald Trump while promoting the film. He accused the former president of attempting to suppress the movie.

"He’s been trying to censor this movie, and at the same time, he claims that he acknowledges free speech." Stan called the effort hypocritical, telling The Hollywood Reporter, in October, "I can’t think of anything more hypocritical."

The 'Captain America' actor suggested that Trump's resistance to the film stems from its truthful portrayal.

"One of the reasons that he’s wanted to stop the movie and prevent people from seeing it is because clearly it reflects something that’s true about him. And it just shows fear in my eyes," Stan said.

Sebastian Stan believes 'The Apprentice' offers important insights

Sebastian Stan argued that 'The Apprentice' remains highly relevant.

"I think the movie’s more relevant than ever now because if we’re talking about somebody who won the popular vote, then I would say we need to look at him a little bit more closely than just an SNL impression," Stan said.

He urged audiences to explore why Trump resonates with certain groups.

"I think we need to look at things in more uncomfortable ways, which means really trying to understand, ‘Why is this man so loved by certain people? What is it about him that connects with certain people?’" Stan asked.

He also lamented the lack of public interest in the film, observing, "It doesn’t seem like people want to look at the truth right now."
