LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hayden Panettiere’s untimely death at the age of 36 has devastated her friends, family, and fans.
Following the announcement of her death on Sunday, August 16, Selma Blair and Melissa Barrera paid their tribute to the late actress.

Selma Blair, 54, commented below the ‘Heroes’ actress’ last Instagram post that showed her enjoying her time with director, podcaster, and photographer Randall Slavin just weeks before her death.
The ‘Cruel Intentions’ star wrote, “I love you. Don’t be gone. Don’t be gone. Please. Please.”
In another comment, she added, “I love you whale tail my friend,” before adding, “I’m dying. Please be here.”

Melissa Barrera, 36, also mourned Panettiere’s death with a message posted on her Instagram Story. She wrote, “Rest in peace sweet Hayden.”
Barrera and Panettiere had worked together in 2023’s ‘Scream VI’, where the Mexican actress was seen as Sam Carpenter while Panettiere played Kirby Reed.
Hayden Panettiere's father announces her death
The death of the ‘Nashville’ actress, who leaves behind a daughter, was announced by her father, Skip Panettiere.
The grieving father said in a statement, “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her -- and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
He also urged for privacy “as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”

Other than Blair and Barrera, SAG-AFTRA remembered Panettiere.
The actors’ union said, “We mourn the sudden passing of Hayden Panettiere. A child actor, Hayden's long career in TV & film included memorable roles in Heroes, Nashville and more. Our hearts are with her daughter, family, friends & fans.”
British author and podcaster Jay Shetty shared his thoughts below Variety’s Instagram post about Panettiere’s death.
“I can’t believe it. Our friendship had just begun and I was so moved by the conversation we shared earlier this year. My love and condolences to her family and fans,” he wrote. Panettiere had appeared on Shetty's podcast in May to promote her memoir.
Panettiere’s tragic death came just months after she released her first memoir, ‘This Is Me: A Reckoning’.
As per the book’s description, she “shares a rare and intimate glimpse into her life behind closed doors, opening up about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, trauma, domestic abuse, and loss.”
