Seth Meyers brutally roasts Melania's revelation of Donald Trump 'encouraging' her to have more children
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Seth Meyers took a comedic shot at Melania Trump’s recent interview with 'Fox & Friends', seizing the moment to mock her relationship with Donald Trump.
In a conversation with co-host Ainsley Earhardt, which aired on September 26, the former first lady discussed a range of topics, including promoting her upcoming memoir 'Melania'. A key subject was her reflections on growing her family with Donald Trump.
Melania Trump's response to Donald Trump's assassination attempts
During the interview, Melania Trump mentioned that after the birth of their son, Barron, Donald Trump expressed interest in having more children.
"I was always perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging [us] to have more," said Melania.
Recapping the interview for his 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' audience, Meyers zeroed in on this moment, commenting, “Well, don’t feel bad, there is a very good chance he did,” a joke seemingly referencing Trump’s complicated family history and publicized personal controversies.
The interview also covered the tense moments surrounding assassination attempts on Trump’s life.
The former first lady revealed she was in New York when a second attempt occurred in Florida.
Reacting to Melania's comments, Meyers quipped, “But as soon as she heard, she rushed right into the kitchen to get a snack.”
Rumors of strain in Melania and Donald Trump's relationship
Seth Meyers also referenced rumors of tension in the Trump marriage, which have recently been fueled by speculation that right-wing activist Laura Loomer may have come between the couple.
While Melania did not address these rumors in her interview, Meyers’ comments appeared to allude to Trump’s controversial past, as per The Daily Beast.
Donald Trump has five children from three different marriages, Donald Jr, Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron.
On May 30, the Republican presidential nominee was convicted of falsifying business records related to an alleged affair with actress Stormy Daniels and hush money payment.
Daniels claimed that she and Trump had an intimate encounter in 2006, just months after Barron was born.
While the former president has denied these accusations, the conviction has brought renewed scrutiny to his personal life.
Seth Meyers mocks Donald Trump over 'fly' incident and purge comment
Donald Trump’s weekend campaign stop took an unexpected turn due to a pesky fly, and Seth Meyers recapped the brief distraction during a rally on Saturday, September 28.
As the 78-year-old politician was telling a story, he suddenly became fixated on a fly.
"Oh, there's a fly. Oh, I wonder where the fly came from. See, two years ago, I wouldn't have had a fly up here!" remarked Trump, confusing Meyers, who noted Trump wasn’t president two years ago either.
The late-night host jokingly speculated, “Did he hear someone say the CIA’s been bugging him and think that’s what they meant?”
He then turned his focus to Trump’s controversial pitch from the next day's rally, where the former president suggested police be given “one real rough, nasty day” to violently crack down on crime, referencing the dystopian movie 'The Purge'.
Meyers mocked the Republican frontrunner’s tough-guy image, saying, “This guy wants to unleash the purge, but if he sees a fly, he loses his s**t.”
He then acted out how Trump might handle a Purge-like scenario, humorously imagining him panicking over a fly in a panic room, according to The Wrap.
