‘She is a hero’: 13-year-old Michigan shooting survivor called 911 after being shot four times
MISSAUKEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN: A brave 13-year-old girl survived four gunshot wounds and desperately dialed 911 during Chad Hickman's shooting spree in Michigan on Friday, August 14.
The teenager, identified as "Bella" on Facebook, managed to reach a phone and alert authorities at around 11:40 am after being hit by gunfire and witnessing the 39-year-old gunman kill her mother and brother at their South LaChance Road home.
The maniac then heinously killed five more people in Missaukee County's Lake Township before he was found dead, police said.

Michigan shooting victims identified by Everitt family
Police have identified the victims at the first house, where the shooting began, as a 45-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy.
The Everitt family identified the woman as Amanda Everitt, 40, and her son as Eric, 16. Bella was also at the home when the shooting took place.
Bella's grandfather, David Everitt, wrote on Facebook, “Amanda and her son eric went home to be with god and our granddaughter Bella is clinging to life in a Grand Rapids hospital.”
He further wrote, “God be with you Amanda and Eric and prayers for Bella who while shot 4 times still managed to call 911 and identify the shooter. She is a hero,” Bella remains the only surviving victim from the Everitt home.
According to New York Post, Hickman and the Everitt family owned homes on the same stretch of the neighbourhood.
Five dead as Michigan shooting spree ends in gunman's death
A teenage boy and four adults were killed in a series of shootings that unfolded across Missaukee County. Hickman was later found dead in a wooded area alongside a 29-year-old woman, according to reports.
The violence began at a home about 170 miles northwest of Detroit, where officers found three people dead, including a 16-year-old boy, a 45-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman.
Hickman reportedly fled the scene, prompting a large-scale search. Police later discovered a 53-year-old man dead at another home before finding Hickman and the 29-year-old woman in the woods.
“This situation is heartbreaking for the community and challenging for the investigators involved,” Lt Ashley Miller said in a statement.
Gov Gretchen Whitmer said Friday that she was monitoring the situation. “My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the Missaukee community,” she said.
