'She's found her power': Melania Trump makes ‘alpha’ move with new $40M Amazon documentary role

WASHINGTON, DC: Melania Trump is stepping firmly into her powerful role as first lady with a major new project that’s already being hailed as a bold career move.
The 55-year-old is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Amazon Prime Video documentary, 'Melania', a film chronicling her return to public life ahead of President Donald Trump’s second term.
The film will hit theaters on January 30 before debuting on Prime Video and promises what producers describe as an “unprecedented look” into Melania’s private world.
The documentary captures the 20 days leading up to Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025, marking one of the most intimate portrayals of Melania yet. The project also sees her taking on the powerful role of executive producer, giving her both creative authority and a share of the film’s reported $40 million licensing deal with Amazon.

Melania Trump ‘found her power’ with her new role, experts say
According to communication expert Caroline Goyder and PR strategist Fiona Harrold, Melania’s latest move signals a significant shift in how she is presenting herself, not as a silent partner, but as a woman in command.

“This time around, she is really playing power,” Caroline told Irish Star. “From the way she strides into the White House to what she’s wearing, she is totally alpha.”
She added, “She’s not just doing it like a model; she’s actually talking to Putin about getting Ukrainian children back from Russia. She’s found her power, and she is using her power.”

Fiona agreed, calling the project a chance for Melania to show her strength on her own terms. “If it’s a platform that she can use to talk about things she cares about, it could be really powerful for her,” she said. “The feminist in me thinks good on her - she’s using this role to do something good and powerful.”

‘Melania’ marks a major comeback for both Trump and director Brett Ratner
The film also marks the Hollywood comeback of director Brett Ratner, who is returning to the industry after a seven-year hiatus following sexual misconduct allegations in 2017. Ratner, best known for directing 'Rush Hour' and 'X-Men: The Last Stand', has consistently denied the claims through his attorney.

Meanwhile, since President Trump’s re-election, Melania has kept a low public profile, making only select appearances including a White House press conference on October 10, where she announced a diplomatic initiative with Russia regarding Ukrainian children.

She also joined her husband for state visits, military events, and high-profile appearances such as Pope Francis’ funeral and the Fourth of July celebrations at the White House.
