LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The white Ford Bronco that carried OJ Simpson during the infamous low-speed police chase in 1994 is set to hit the market, with its owners seeking $1.5 million or more for the vehicle that became a cultural artefact.

Nearly three decades after it captured the nation's attention, the Bronco, which has been on display at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Tennessee since 2016, is being prepared for sale by its three owners – Simpson's former agent Michael Gilbert and two friends of the driver, Al Cowlings, as per New York Post.

The Bronco became a symbol of the nation's interest in the OJ Simpson case

With almost 100 million people watching on TV, the Bronco became a symbol of the nation's interest in the case. With his longtime pal Cowlings behind the wheel, Simpson hid in the back seat of the iconic SUV, leading a line of police cars on a chase along Southern California's interstate.

The car chase ultimately ended at Simpson's Brentwood mansion, where officers negotiated his surrender after a tense standoff. For 17 years, the Bronco was parked in a garage of a condominium in LA. After that, it was taken to the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas to assist in the opening of a sports museum.

Shortly after, it found a temporary home at Gilbert's residence before landing at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Cowlings had initially planned to sell the Bronco to Startifacts, a well-known celebrity memorabilia shop based in Las Vegas, for about $75,000 back in 1996.

Owners of the Bronco are aiming to secure at least $1.5 million for the iconic car

However, the deal fell through when the owners discovered the shop planned to rent the vehicle to a tour company that would re-enact the chase and visit Nicole Brown's grave.

"The trial hadn't taken place yet, and we didn't want people thinking anyone associated with O.J. did this," Gilbert revealed to ESPN. In the end, Cowlings sold the Bronco to Gilbert and two of his friends.

The most recent bid they got for the Bronco was $750,000. However, they are now aiming to secure at least $1.5 million, taking advantage of the 30th anniversary of the chase and Simpson's recent demise.
