LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: The death of OJ Simpson has reportedly led to a higher demand for memorabilia linked to his life.
The controversial former footballer was 76 when he died on April 10. He was battling prostate cancer.

Following OJ Simpson's death, a statement posted by his family read, “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.”
“He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace. -The Simpson Family,” it added.
OJ Simpson memorabilia ‘craze is real’
Memorabilia shops have revealed that many people have enquired about things related to Simpson despite his controversial past. Simpson was held liable for the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend, Ronald Goldman. Simpson also did jail time for robbery and kidnapping.
Tyler Feldman, CEO of Inscriptagraphs Memorabilia told Radar Online, “Phone calls have been going nonstop. So the craze is real.”
He further explained, “I think there’s that element of the conversation piece. I think people wanted to have that item in their collection that just sparked a little interest.” The publication reported that people who want to possess Simpson’s memories are eyeing his rookie cards, signed jerseys as well as helmets.
Feldman added, "You are going to have a lot of predators online. They are definitely going to try to take advantage of people." Inscriptagraphs also reportedly disclosed to TMZ that hours after the athlete’s death, 40 articles were sold. The prices of those went from $150 to $2,000.

Meanwhile, the surge in sales of OJ Simpson memorabilia has attracted some attention online.
A Facebook user commented, “People will buy anything...the 🍊🐸 proved that.”
Another user wrote, “How much are his football cards going for.”
“Anyone get the glove or knife?” the third one remarked on Facebook, referring to the killings of Nicole and Ronald.
The fourth one asked, “Do they have the glove that didn't fit?”
The fifth one stated, “We live in a cruel sad world where people laugh at other people's illness and suffering and death. At least Nicole won’t have to face him again. #justiceisfinallyserved.”
