WASHINGTON, DC: Tim Scott claimed President Joe Biden supported educational "segregation" in America while speaking on CNN's 'State of the Union' on Sunday, May 26, as per the New York Post.

At the same time, the South Carolina senator, who is seen as a possible vice president pick for Donald Trump, asserted that the ex-POTUS will provide greater possibilities for Black students.

Tim Scott says Joe Biden ‘resegregated’ US schools because of anti-charter stance

Scott claimed, "If you look at cities like Chicago today, the elimination of charter schools under Joe Biden resegregated schools in America. We need four more years of common sense under Donald Trump, and not four more years of segregation under Joe Biden."

He also recalled the well-known debate exchange between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden from 2019, during which the latter was criticized for his prior outspoken resistance to federally mandated busing.

The South Carolina Republican further said, "If you’re really concerned about racial justice in America, let’s not forget, Joe Biden is the guy that talked about racial jungles as a result of desegregation. His own Vice President Kamala Harris said he supported segregation."

In 2020, while in the middle of the Democratic race, Harris took a jab at Biden. Ultimately, Biden selected her as his running partner despite their viral exchange.

Scott, a longtime supporter of school choice, criticized Biden for not standing up to the teachers' unions and brought up his proposed budget cuts to charter school funding.

He remarked, "The schools in our largest cities are being resegregated. Joe Biden’s Department of Education has halted the growth of charter schools that provide greater diversity and opportunities. The President of the United States refuses to stand up to the teachers’ unions, and as a result, the future of these kids will be lower and devastated."

Internet reacts to Sen Tim Scott's claims regarding President Joe Biden's support for 'educational segregation'

One wrote, "I have heard speculation that Tim Scott could be in the front runner for the vice president, but many do not feel he is the correct choice, given his globalist voting record," and another added, "Schools?! Try the entire country."

"Honestly, this sounds like a pretty big stretch," expressed a person, while someone else mentioned, "It's great to see such vibrant discussions about education policies! It's important to delve into how different approaches to schooling can shape our education system. Looking forward to seeing more debates and perspectives on this topic!"

"Brilliant insight but Joe’s just following Barry’s lead," opined an individual.
