PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump once again stirred controversy with his remarks on climate change.

In a 'Fox & Friends' interview, which aired on June 2, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee supposedly downplayed the threat of global warming, asserting that sea levels will only rise "one-eighth of an inch" over the next 400 years.

Donald Trump warns of the threats posed by nuclear weapons

During the interview, Trump joked about the severity of global warming.

He remarked, "When you look at all these people, millions of people coming into this country, it’s — I really think, other than nuclear weapons, which I think are the single biggest threat, not global warming, when they say that the seas will rise over the next 400 years, one-eighth of an inch, you know, which means basically have a little more beachfront property. OK. Think of it. The seas are going to rise. Who knows?"

Trump criticized President Joe Biden's stance on climate change, saying, "But this is the big threat. I watched Biden the other night. It’s the greatest existential — he loves that word because it’s a big word and he thinks — you know, he thinks — he knows — he doesn’t even know what the h--- the word means."

"He goes, it’s the greatest existential threat to our country, global warming. In the meantime, you’ve got these maniacs with nuclear weapons that can do damage which I won’t even talk to you about," noted the former president.

Trump also used the interview to highlight his concerns about the migrant crisis, stating, "It’s the greatest. There has never been anything like it. The power of weaponry today. It will be obliteration. And that’s your real threat. But in terms of our country, a real threat are the people that are coming in, that are being allowed to come in."

"Who wants to have an open border where millions of people are coming into our country, right? Millions and millions, and not just from South America. They’re coming in from Africa, from the Middle East, from Europe, from all over the world they’re coming in. And they’re coming in from jails, and they’re coming in from mental institutions, insane asylums," stated the MAGA figurehead.

'The New Abnormal' co-hosts points out issues in Donald Trump's statements on global warming

The hosts of The Daily Beast's podcast, 'The New Abnormal', were quick to criticize Trump for his unsubstantiated claims about climate change.

"By the way, it’s 10 to 12 inches in the next 30 years," said podcast co-host Andy Levy, adding, "That’s from the NOAA’s website, and is I think the generally agreed upon figure, not an eighth or a quarter of an inch over 400 years. 10 to 12 inches over the next 30 years, which is truly catastrophic. He’s just stupid."

Danielle Moodie, another co-host, chimed in, "So he lives in Florida, right? The place that has massive four and five-category-grade hurricanes on a regular basis. The erosion of the beaches because of those types of storms and the fact that no one wants to provide homeowners insurance in those places because of the threat of climate change, which isn’t a threat, it’s actually here."

"He’s talking about a quarter of an inch and 400 years. Who brought that science to him? They probably went to the same university as the doctors that told us that he was only 200 pounds," added Moodie.

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's remarks on global warming and nuclear weapons

One wrote, "So rising sea levels somehow create more land?" and another added, "Ya that was a dumb statement."

A person remarked, "How does anyone see/hear this man and think he should be the leader of the country?" "Does the orange felon really know WTF he’s talking about? Perhaps his sentence should be time in a mental facility but……..it wouldn't be fair to other patients," quipped someone else.

"Wait till he figures out that this also means that Mar-a-Lago will be under water but the county road behind will be the new beachfront," expessed an individual.

Another person fumed, "Fox News is not a legitimate source of information. Donald Trump is not a legitimate candidate. He's a criminal who deserves jail time."

One more wrote, "The stable genius 🙄," mocking Trump's assertions regarding his mental stability and intelligence.
