LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: More celebrities have mourned the passing of Dolly Parton after her death on Tuesday, August 25. 

Names like Stevie Nicks, Mariah Carey, and Sylvester Stallone have shared heartfelt tributes following the loss.

Parton was 80 when she breathed her last at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by her loved ones. Her death was confirmed by her team and her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who said, “Sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus.”

Mariah Carey and Stevie Nicks remember Dolly Parton for her talent and generosity

A day after Parton's death, Carey took to her X (formerly Twitter) account, where she mentioned the country legend's “kindness and generosity” as she shared, “Rest in Peace Dolly, one of the most brilliant, iconic, and prolific artists of all time. I will always love you ❤️.”



Nicks’ tribute to Parton recalled a week they spent together to record a duet for her album ‘Rockstar’ in 2023. The 78-year-old singer called it a “master class” as she stated, “I tried to be a sponge ~ and learn everything I could learn from her ~ in a very few days.”

“Learning from her was easy because she was a really good teacher,” Nicks added in her tribute.

Stallone posted a video of himself remembering his ‘Rhinestone’ co-star, whom he called “a brilliant woman, so outgoing, so nice.”

The 80-year-old actor also wrote, “I don’t think people realize what a brilliant mind she had. She was just incredible. I used to call her ‘the Pioneer Woman’ that could do everything to survive. And she did,” before adding, “I miss you Dolly. I love you. Sad.”

Kevin Costner expressed his gratitude towards Parton for letting him use her song ‘I Will Always Love You’ in his movie, ‘The Bodyguard’.



“Oh my goodness. Where did you go Dolly? We are all breathless. The feeling of who you are and who you were are so close,” the actor said in his tribute posted on his now-disappeared Instagram Story. “Thank you for trusting me with ‘I Will Always Love You.’ So gracious in all things,” Costner added.

Brandi Carlile hailed the ‘Coat of Many Colors’ hitmaker for “turning kindness into an art form and songs into places where people feel seen.”



“You remind us that you can be wildly talented and still lead with a tender heart. Thank you for showing us what it looks like to stay true to yourself and leave the world a little brighter than you found it,” Carlie mentioned in her tribute.



Kathie Lee Gifford wants people to live like Dolly Parton

Kathie Lee Gifford’s tribute for Parton was a wish that “more people in this world would live like Dolly did,” as she added, “To just be kind and loving and steadfast. I will miss her for the rest of my life.”



Wynonna Judd, in her tribute, said that a world without Parton is “almost unthinkable.”

The 62-year-old singer further called the late legend “a light in my life” who “showed up for me in a way I’ll never forget.”

Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon’s tribute for Parton read, “I feel very fortunate to have known and worked with such an extraordinarily talented songwriter/recording artist/performer.”

“Dolly was full of love, kindness and understanding. We need more people like that right now,” Bon added.

Kylie Minogue also shared her grief over the passing of Parton as she called her “a true icon and forever inspiration.”



As per Swedish singer Zara Larsson, she “wanna be more like Dolly. We should all be more like Dolly. More generous, more loving, and to always see the good in people.”

Actor Seth MacFarlane, who worked with Parton on ‘The Orville’, said that without her “the world is a dimmer place.”



“Her kindness, generosity, and authenticity were evident from moment one, and the benign yet assured command she maintained over her empire was obvious from the genuine love and trust you could see from everyone who worked for her,” the animator added.



Bebe Rexha remembers Dolly Parton was someone who was always high on energy

Joni Mitchell posted a throwback singing video of Parton on X and wrote, “Remembering Dolly Parton, whose unmistakable voice was matched by her warmth, wit, and generosity.”

Honoring Parton, Bebe Rexha posted a lengthy tribute post on her Instagram page, which was accompanied by a video of them singing ‘Seasons’ and some of the photos.

Rexa wrote, “Dear Dolly, Getting to sing with you was one of those dreams I never really believed would become real until it did. What I remember most wasn’t just your voice or your talent. It was your energy. Your class. Your kindness. Your humor.”

“I’ll always be grateful that our paths crossed and that I got to share a song with you. ‘Seasons’ will forever mean something different to me because your voice is on it,” the 36-year-old added.
