WASHINGTON, DC: Over Memorial Day weekend, Eric Trump stirred controversy with a post on X that ignited a wave of backlash.

The post in question featured a photo of the Trump family alongside a claim that they had given up "everything to Save America."

Eric shared another user's post containing the photo, accompanied by the caption: "And we will do it again!"

The image prominently displayed Donald Trump and his wife Melania, Eric Trump and his wife Lara, as well as Donald Trump Jr and his fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Notably absent from the photo were Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.



 

Eric Trump's Memorial Day tribute sparks controversy

Critics swiftly condemned the post, arguing that it was inappropriate and insensitive given the significance of Memorial Day, a time dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of America’s fallen service members.

“I wasn’t going to tweet anything political this weekend, but i have to make an exception for this,” responded former Rep Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a former Air Force second lieutenant.

“Your family has sacrificed nothing, your name will become synonymous with ‘Benedict Arnold’ and how dare you tweet this, THIS weekend. You don’t know the first thing about service you child.”



 

Conservative commentator Bill Kristol, meanwhile, called it “particularly disgusting to post this on Memorial Day weekend.”



 

"You stole money from a kid’s cancer charity, your dad called our soldiers “suckers and loser” and none of you ever served in the military. Such a corrupt group you of people," a third stated.



 

"Biggest family grifters," said a user.



 

"The grift from this family never ends. Stolen valor. Claiming to have served the country without being in the military. How many years in service or # of deployment you all have? FYI, Taking part in the events leading up to J6 doesn’t count as military service," read a tweet.



 

"You haven’t sacrificed a damn thing for America. The stones to say something like this on Memorial Day weekend. Unbelievable," stated another.
