'Storage Wars' star Darrell Sheets seen walking dog in final Facebook post before death
LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA: Reality television personality Darrell Sheets was seen walking his dog in a final Facebook image shared before his death on Wednesday, April 22. He rose to prominence through his appearances on A&E’s show ‘Storage Wars.’
The Lake Havasu City Police Department stated that Sheets was found dead at his residence at around 2 AM from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities confirmed that the case remains under investigation, and his body has been transported to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office.

In the photo, Sheets appeared relaxed, slightly smiling while holding the leash, dressed in a black tank top, gym shorts, and a beanie. The image offered a glimpse into his final public moments.
Additionally, in one of his final Instagram posts shared in February 2025, Sheets was seen enjoying time with friends. The television personality was rarely active on social media but appeared cheerful in the photo, posing with his group during a trip to Lake Havasu. He captioned the snap, “Havasu show me your junk, We love our snowbirds.”
According to reports, officers responded to his residence after receiving a report of a deceased individual at approximately 2 AM local time.

“Well here we go I wasn’t going to say anything, but you all have been the greatest friends and fans, I’ve been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack, found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lungs,” Sheets captioned a picture of himself lying next to fiancée Romney Snyde in a hospital bed.
He further said, “Today I am having surgery so all your prayers would be deeply appreciated thank you for being there for me it’s been a great ride, Romney has been by my side through all of this she is a good woman and I love her.”
Darrell Sheets’ ‘Storage Wars’ legacy and tributes from co-stars
Sheets was widely recognized for his role on Storage Wars, appearing in 163 episodes between 2010 and 2023. Known as “The Gambler” for his high-risk bidding style, he became a prominent figure on the show, which followed professional buyers competing for abandoned storage units.
“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our ‘Storage Wars’ family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” a spokesperson for A&E told People in a statement.
Following his television career, Sheets retired to Arizona, where he ran an antique store called “Havasu Show Me Your Junk.”
His co-star Brandi Passante also shared an emotional tribute after his death. Passante, who frequently competed against him on the show, posted a series of photos on Instagram reflecting on their years together. The images included moments of them filming in front of a storage unit as well as an appearance together on a talk show set.
In one of the photos, Passante was seen smiling while Sheets playfully pointed at her. She noted that she had known him for many years and was now “at a loss for words.”
