LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sydney Sweeney is clapping back at critics who claim she has been using her restaurateur fiance to fund her lavish life.

The 27-year-old ‘Euphoria’ actress recently opened up to Glamour during a recent profile in the magazine about her fiance Jonathan Davino, 40, being her equal in partnership.

Setting the record straight, the ‘Madame Web’ star declared that she is an “independent woman” and Davino is not her financial backer.

Sydney Sweeney shuts down claims she gets financial help from Jonathan Davino

Sydney Sweeney shared in the interview that she wished the pre-conceived notion of Jonathan Davino - who is considerably older than her - paying for her would go away, as that is far from the truth.

"I'm a very successful, independent woman who's worked really hard,” Sweeney said, before noting, “I've accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family."

She further claimed that Davino, who is a businessman himself, is not financially backing her Fifty-Fifty Films, and that his only role is reserved to be a “sounding board.”

The ‘Anyone But You’ star stated, "I would love to set the record straight. You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man.”

Sweeney further explained, “We're teammates. We're in it together. And we want to see each other succeed."

Sweeney started dating Davino in 2018, and the couple got engaged in 2022.

While Sweeney may currently boast of a net worth of $40 million, which she earned from acting in numerous hit shows and producing blockbuster movies, the ‘Immaculate’ actress has not forgotten her past.

She continued in the interview, "I come from a family where I saw my parents lose everything, and I am terrified of that. That fear will always be instilled in me. I'm a huge saver.”

Speaking of her mindful spending, Sweeney shared, “I don't just go and spend money. I like to invest. I like real estate. I like making, hopefully, smart choices with the money I'm making. But I don't think I'll ever actually feel comfortable."

She produced her rom-com ‘Anyone But You’ and ‘Immaculate’ with Davino. The couple’s next project is a biopic about the life of pro boxer Christy Martin.
