Internet overjoyed as Sydney Sweeney says she might return to Spider-Verse if Zendaya tags along on project

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sydney Sweeney expressed interest in returning to the Spider-Verse, but only if Zendaya is her co-star.

The actress' recent film, 'Madame Web', didn't perform well at the box office and she even poked fun at its lackluster reception during her 'Saturday Night Live' monologue.

In a conversation with ComicBook.com, Sweeney expressed her willingness to reprise her role as Julia Cornwall in a Spider-Verse film if Zendaya, her co-star from 'Euphoria', was involved in the project.

During the interview, the host asked, "Knowing how close you are with the 'Euphoria' cast. Could you be convinced to return for another Spider film? If it meant you were gonna share scenes with Zendaya's MJ?"

Sweeney enthusiastically responded, "Oh my God yeah, that'd be so cool." The ComicBook.com host agreed, expressing, "That's awesome. I, I would love to see that as well."

While Zendaya portrays MJ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and will continue to do so in future Spider-Man films, 'Madame Web' exists within Sony's Spider-Man Universe and predates the events of Tom Holland's Spider-Man films.

Although there's a significant time gap between 'Madame Web' and the MCU's Spider-Man storyline, as highlighted by Comic Book Resources, given the multiverse concept introduced in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' the idea of Sweeney's Julia Cornwall and Zendaya's MJ coexisting in a film isn't entirely out of possibility.

One wrote, "Just give her the role of black cat," advocating for Sweeney to be cast as Black Cat aka Felicia Hardy in the MCU. 

"Sydney Sweeney as Black Cat would be perfect😏," noted a person, while someone else added, "Marvel. She's right there. You're Felicia Hardy is right there." 

Another said, "Their chemistry would likely make for an engaging on-screen dynamic."

"Aka if it's a role in the MCU this time," remarked someone else. One more declared, "She'd steal the show if that happens!"

An individual joked, "Peter would be in a blender having to pick between Sydney and Zendaya. Zendaya just lost Paul Atreides to Pugh she can’t lose another one." 

Another person exclaimed, "Get the deal done. This should happen for sure."
