Taylor Swift crashes Dakota Johnson’s ‘SNL’ monologue as ‘Verity’ star calls her ‘therapist’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift and Dakota Johnson are the kind of friends who support each other in every situation, and that’s exactly what happened when the 'Verity' actor hosted Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Swift appeared alongside Johnson during her opening monologue, making a surprise cameo.

There had been predictions that Swift would make a cameo on SNL, and she did not disappoint. Johnson turned to Swift and jokingly called her a “therapist” during her surprise appearance in the monologue.

The BFFs appeared together on SNL and made the night memorable. Johnson joked about her failed relationships and said, “I have really good friends. They don’t judge me; they’re really supportive. Ladies and gentlemen, my literal therapist.”

Swift then appeared on screen and said, “I’m not your therapist, actually. You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some... You flop on my couch and overshare, and every so often I say ‘Damn, that’s crazy,'” Swift continued. “And then you say...”

“Sleepover, yay!” said Johnson. “Then I give you Pedialyte and my security drives you home,” Swift said.

The discussion then turned to Johnson’s dating life. While talking about 'Verity' and her dating experiences, she shared, “So is dating musicians. Some of them don’t wear shoes."

"But all of them are in my DMs. Some people leave concerts with merch, and I leave concerts with a two-and-a-half-year relationship.”

With Swift beside her, Johnson added, “Just quickly while we’re on the subject of musicians, I think actually I’m doing a public service by dating them, because, ladies, I am saving you a lot of money on Zoloft.”

“So you’re welcome, America. And also England. And parts of Ireland. And Cleveland.” Swift then squealed, “It’s her birthday!”

Dakota Johnson praises Taylor Swift at VMAs

At the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Swift got a special shoutout from her friend Johnson. The 'Verity' actress called the 'Patient Zero' singer a “visionary” as she introduced Swift on stage to receive the award.

“One of the most decorated artists in the history of the VMAs. She is the most recognizable video director in the show’s history.”

The actress paused to let the audience cheer and applaud for Swift.

She then resumed, saying, “She is visionary, with a relentless drive for perfection in everything she does. And still holds the artistry and the cardinal virtue to never lose sight of the ineffable magic spark at the center of it all.”
