NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Taylor Swift jokingly addressed her supposed estrangement from Brad Paisley as he inducted her into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The Grammy-winning singer, 36, became the youngest inductee in the institution's history on Monday, October 26.

While accepting the honor, Swift reflected on her relationship with Paisley.

According to E! News, she said, “Brad Paisley, thank you so much for that induction. I’m really surprised to see you here actually because we've been estranged since 2007.”

“I think you know why,” the ‘Lover’ singer said before explaining to the audience that the country music singer, 53, had “took a tour prank too far. Filled my entire tour bus with live crickets. Thousands of them.”

Swift, who opened for Paisley on his ‘Bonfires & Amplifiers Tour’ in 2007, revealed that she stayed awake the entire night because of the insects’ “chirp, chirp. Chirp”.

“I considered buying a pet lizard to eradicate the problem. It was a dark time,” she said before addressing Paisley directly: “You did such [an] amazing job with that introduction. I think we can let bygones be bygones. I think we're good now.”

The ‘When I Get Where I’m Going’ singer said, “This is somebody who has conquered the world and done it with songs. All of us were like, ‘How is this teenager doing this? How is she so brilliant?’ And then she goes off and really put her feelings into something that is 100% hers, writes the Speak Now album all by herself.”

“It’s an amazing thing to watch her evolution from somebody who realized this all starts with a song, to take that exact thing and change the world with it,” he added.

Taylor Swift donates to Brad Paisley’s nonprofit

Meanwhile, although Swift joked about their past feud on October 26, she and Paisley have been on good terms for a long time.

The ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker donated to The Store, a Tennessee-based nonprofit founded by Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

A statement shared by the organization read, “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for including The Store in her year-end giving. Her generous gift helps us continue providing groceries with dignity and choice to families across Middle Tennessee especially as we prepare to open our second location. Thank you, Taylor, for using your voice and generosity to uplift neighbors in need.”

Paisley and his wife were also invited to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding in July.

Paisley later reportedly said, “One of the least pretentious weddings I’ve ever seen, or ever will see. So, yeah, it meant a lot to be—it was kind of a big thank you from her to invite us.”
